  Mandy Winger : J.R., you had a fight in a public place with him over me.

  J.R. Ewing : You're damn right I did. I'd do it again. I wouldn't let anybody talk to you like that, not while I'm around. But I see what you mean. Things could get back to Sue Ellen. Well, the chips will just have to fall where they may.

  [shakes his head:] 

  J.R. Ewing : I don't want it to concern you.

  Mandy Winger : My concern is that I'm getting involved with you, deeper and deeper every day.

  J.R. Ewing : Good.

  Mandy Winger : No, it's not good. Not for me. Years ago, I swore I'd never let myself get involved with a married man. And now, here I am, doing just that.

  J.R. Ewing : But that's wonderful. I'm gonna make you very happy.

  Mandy Winger : For how long? A month, a year? Don't you see, there is just no future in it for me!

  J.R. Ewing : Well, you didn't have a future with Barnes, but you were with him.

  Mandy Winger : [insists]  He wasn't married. You will not leave your wife. I'm not asking you to. Please believe that. I mean, I don't wanna break up your marriage. It's just that I don't see how I can fit into your life.

  J.R. Ewing : Of course you could.

  Mandy Winger : You and Sue Ellen are practically an institution. You two have your quarrels, but you'll never marry anyone else.

  J.R. Ewing : Mandy, I don't think you realize how much... how much you mean to me. I'd do almost anything to keep from losing you. Just give me a little time. It will work out.

  Mandy Winger : All right.

  J.R. Ewing : Oh, I'm glad.

  Mandy Winger : But, J R., I still won't sleep with you.

  [shakes her head] 

  Mandy Winger : It's not that I don't want to. I do.

  J.R. Ewing : Why not? I wanna be as close as I can to you. And you know I'd never cause you any pain.

  Mandy Winger : But it's bound to happen, even if you didn't mean to hurt me. I can't do it.

  [shakes her head] 

  Mandy Winger : Please, you have to understand that. Do you?

  J.R. Ewing : No. Cause I want you too much. But I won't push.
