Tom sees Eddie outgrowing his room and mentions they could use more room in the form of a house. Eddie is excited about the idea. They comb through the newspaper ads and go out to look at one they're interested in. The boy who lives there, Bruce (Michael Link), doesn't want to move and makes up untruths about the house, coming at odds with the anxious realtor, Irma Handily (Barbara Cason). Tom wants Ms. Handily to show him an older house and along with Eddie he brings Norman and Tina. They are amazed to view the spacious mansion located in the country. An enthusiastic Tom shows changes he plans to make to it. Eddie is sad to say goodbye to his friends, He also wants things to stay the same with Mrs. Livingston who may not come since it is so far away from her home. Tom's construction estimates makes him question whether his plans are practical. With the papers to sign in front of him, Tom stalls the decision and talks it over privately with Eddie who voices his own concerns.
