Breaking the Sibling Bonds
claudio_carvalho13 April 2007
The Triad advises Cole to kill Phoebe instead of sleeping with her, otherwise he would die. Cole summons the spirit of rage Andras, a demon that increases anger to rage, and asks him to infect the Halliwell sisters, breaking their sibling bonds. Andras succeeds and the charmed sisters lose their powers, and Phoebe moves to Cole's place. However Cole is in love for Phoebe and controls Belthazor and spares Phoebe, asking her to return to her sisters. When Belthazor unleashes, he fights against the charmed sisters and then Cole is summoned by the Triad.

"Power Outage" is a great episode of this irregular series. The situation of Cole, a demon in love for a good witch that he is supposed to kill, is intriguing and attractive. With the fate of the Triad, the next episodes are promising. My vote is eight.

Warning: Spoilers
and it doesn't involve demon killing, Starts with a Dream of Coles that i dare say is very breathtaking...after that intro there's a bit of things that happen then Cole gets a demon that sort of intensifies anger in people...he infects Piper into yelling at her neighbors, gets Prue mad and then He infects her...the two gang up on Phoebe and gets her mad and he three sisters end up fight over well almost nothing, but ends up with the sisters using their powers on each other, Phoebe throws a camera at Prue, Prue deflects it back at Phoebe, then Phoebe levitates, Piper freezes the camera as it comes her way and moves before it unfreezes. After the fight the Powers that be, are no more, and Cole nearly kills Phoebe...the whole episode is filled with a sense of intense feelings...its scary, sad, funny, other emotions fill different parts, has a bunch of unexpected parts, like Belthezor getting possessed and Cole killing the Triad..

The One Where The Sisters Lose Their Powers...

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It's so good. And it's such a good idea, the sisters losing their powers. I really do love it. It's just fantastic.

In this episode, Cole has "contracted" a demon to turn the sisters anger into rage, which eventually makes them lose their powers. Cole sets up traps that will make the sisters mad at each other, and then the demon turns them into full-on rage-monsters. They start arguing using their powers on one another and then they lose them. The Book Of Shadows front cover symbol, the Triquetra (if that's how you spell it) changes and it become individual, just like the sisters have. They need to work on their issues to get their powers back, but that won't be easy. In the end, the demon possesses Cole and tries to kill the sisters as Balthazar, but the sisters kick ass and Cole vanishes and the demon is destroyed.

Overall, I give this episode a 9 out of 10.

The highlight of the season.

Warning: Spoilers
Fillers are all worth a watch this year. Episodes 5 and 6 were proofs of it. But episode 7 is where the real action takes place. It's on my favorite episodes list for the whole show. You could cut the tension between the actresses, with a knife sometimes. And I'm glad writers decided to tap into that. It made for a very realistic script, that delivered big time, when the big fight happened. Fight that was brought on by an interesting demon, creating more complications between characters. Dealing with the Triads once and for all, and making Cole/Balthazar the big bad, was perfect timing. And choosing « you're an ocean » for the closing song, a way to cheerfully make fun of the main plot, and off set feuds.

Powerless

Warning: Spoilers
Power outage was a great idea to show emotions can affect their coven and plays a big part in showing how sisterhood connects them as one. Working in issues, being there for one another and being a family created excellent drama. Andres is number four on my list and his abilities are unique effecting those around him with rage.

Belthazar's struggles between his love for Phoebe and his demonic side leading to a shipping full of genuine love, tragedy and heartbreak. They will even carry on the weight of the show's popularity once Shannon leaves. All the sisters are Mary sues at this point and can do no wrong. The fighting test drive at the beginning was great to show how they prepare for battle, a great twist and the style is slick. Though I wish Prue had gotten to keep her upgrade from the empath saga.

Also Prue suspicious nature starts as she suspect's Cole may actually be Belthazar and her dynamic with him has wild passion metaphors we'll see soon enough and because they dated behind the scenes which account for it.

The only spasm I have is the Triad was pumped up to be a great threat in the hierarchy of evil yet taken out to easily.
