Nice People Die in Bed

I can see why reception was mixed for those early episodes of Bergerac.

It is only the second episode, it is directed by Martin Campbell and Bergerac is investigating why did the body of Sir Edward Lister was moved after he died.

Could foul play had been involved? Lister was a former politician now head of a charity. It certainly seems his wife was not there when he initially died, so maybe he had placed himself in an embarrassing position.

As always Charlie Hungerford was about when Lister was at a function. Also a fellow alcoholic of Bergerac who had had a moment of weakness holds an important clue. What a coincidence!

Not much action just Bergerac talking to one group of people to another. His leg does go in a chase scene and we get flashbacks of how a drunk Bergerac suffered his serious leg injury in the first place.

Ending Had Real Holes

The ending in this episode made no sense. Does someone burst into a room naked? They totally dropped the aspect of charity fraud. Seems like they ran out of time and said "let's end it" with a half-ass confession. Enjoying the main characters. Hopefully a little more effort put into the script going forward.
