After five long seasons suffering the intolerant nag that was Susan Young, we are graced with the wonderful Thérèse Liotard as Danielle. Liotard is mostly under utilized for all of season 9, only to be tossed under the bus without cause in the final episode. Having fed us that paper thin plot device, Jim then falls off the wagon and succumbs to the advance of a femme fatale only slightly more interesting than the drab Susan Young. As an added bonus, we get a return of Jim's ex-wife, who has been largely absent for most of the series to the extent that >no one really cares<. A sorely disappointing conclusion to an otherwise fantastic series. Not even an exaggeratedly sadistic Bill Nighy can save this mess.
