"Homicide" begins with Harris interviewing an elderly woman (longtime veteran Marjorie Bennett, last of two, in her final performance) who has bounced checks in all 48 lower states, and plans to leave shortly for Hawaii (Harris: "or possibly not!"). Kingman (Johnny Silver) is arrested for lifting Wojo's wallet, his trousers too tempting a target compared with those tight jeans! Al Ruscio (third of five) plays Leonard Roth, who escapes after spending four days locked in the trunk of a car, passersby ignoring his pleas for help. Liquor store owner Mr. Cotterman (Jack Somack, fifth of six) argues with neighbor Steven Haddad (Harold J. Stone, second of three), who owns a dry cleaners, over who threw a brick through his front window. Inspector Luger arrives to announce a bureaucratic decision to change each precinct into specialty squads, Captain Miller now heading up homicide, which has Harris investigating a killer whose victims end up distributed in trash bags, Dietrich arresting a man (Jack Dodson, third of four) for slitting his barber's throat because he didn't like his haircut! Tricia O'Neil (first of two) plays police photographer Alex Kramer, who supplies shots of the corpses for both Dietrich and Harris. Harriet Shulton (Allyn Ann McLerie, first of two) pops in to report a possible homicide...her husband, if the hit man she hired pulls it off!
