The glass building Sydney and Jack are in for surgery, is also the same building/ hospital Grey's Anatomy uses. See more »

Jack Bristow: [talking about Syd at his hearing] When I look at her, when I look at the little girl who raised herself to become one of the most extraordinary human beings and one of the finest agents I've ever had the privilege of knowing, I see only the promise of my own redemption. Turning myself in was the only way I could think of to make that clear to her, to prove that despite... my limited abilities as a father, I love her more than I could ever say.

Jack and Sydney are sent on a mission together to Geneva by Sloane - to get a blood sample from a man who is sick with a virus developed by Sark to be used as a biological weapon. Their extra time together gives them the chance to discuss things, and Jack decides to turn himself in for lying to his CIA superiors and framing Irina for giving them false leads. It's sometimes amazing how emotionally complex this show can be. In the previous two episodes, Jack was basically treated as the "villain", a man who is ready to break the rules and even endanger other CIA agents to get Irina out of the way. But this time we get to hear more of his side, and he makes some very good points about wanting to protect Sydney - the viewer gets on his side again. However, the episode is stolen, IMO, by the Sloane subplot: after a striking sequence in which he sees his wife (?) in the middle of the street, he decides to take drastic action to determine once and for all if she's dead or not. And yes, we get the answer to that one. *** out of 4.
