Quotes
-
Jack Bauer : [Over the phone] I'm inside Ontario airport, gunmen have just attacked and taken over Terminal One: their carrying automatic weapons, and they have hostages
Bill Buchanan : [Over the speakerphone as Audrey listens nearby] we haven't received any alerts
Jack Bauer : Trust me, you will
Bill Buchanan : What're you doing at the airport?
Jack Bauer : I'm following up on a lead. President Palmer knew of the planned attack, I believe that's why he was assassinated
Bill Buchanan : [after Spencer gave him a interagency flash alert] we just got confirmation of the situation, I want you out of there now: turn yourself in. Let our people handle this
Jack Bauer : Understand this, I don't work for you, I'm staying inside. You want my intel? Fine but I'm doing this my way
Bill Buchanan : How many hostiles are there?
Jack Bauer : Approximately ten to twelve, the gunmen have locked down the terminal, I'm going to sending you photos of the hostiles, they should be clear enough for you to identify them
Jack Bauer : [after sending the photos through his cell phone] one more thing: a woman is going to contact you, her name is Diane Huxley, I sent her and her son to CTU
Bill Buchanan : Who are they?
Jack Bauer : I don't have time to explain but I'm responsible, just make sure their safe ok?
-
President Charles Logan : [Over the phone] the news is saying there was some kind of explosion inside the terminal
Bill Buchanan : Everything's under control Sir: our tactical units are in position, the go time is ten minutes
President Charles Logan : Then what caused the explosion?
Bill Buchanan : We're not entirely certain Sir, we believe our man inside may have been trying to stall the execution of the hostage and he triggered the bomb vest of a hostile
President Charles Logan : Did you authorize this action?
Bill Buchanan : No Sir, he acted "independently." You should know the man we're talking about is Jack Bauer
President Charles Logan : Jack Bauer?
Bill Buchanan : He was in the terminal when the terrorists attacked. His been helping coordinate our operation from the inside Sir
President Charles Logan : I thought that Jack Bauer assassinated David Palmer?
President Charles Logan : There's mitigating evidence that Bauer may have been framed
President Charles Logan : What evidence? What're you talking about?
Bill Buchanan : It's complicated
President Charles Logan : Why am I just hearing about this now?
Bill Buchanan : I didn't want to "distract" you with "details" that could wait until after we resolve this hostage situation Sir
President Charles Logan : [Raises his voice] you tell me everything and I will decide which details are relevant
Bill Buchanan : With respect Mr. President, we don't have time
President Charles Logan : Then talk faster
-
Bill Buchanan : [Over the phone, referring to the leader of the terrorists holding hostages at Ontario Airport] his name is Anton Beresch: he's a member of the Dawn Brigade, a separatist movement blamed for numerous terrorist bombings in Russia
President Charles Logan : [Over the speakerphone] sounds like the kind of terrorist organization today's accord was designed to combat
President Charles Logan : Bill, I have no intention of calling off this signing much less making a public statement at that affect so that gives less than ninety minutes to rescue the hostages
Bill Buchanan : We're already operating on that time table, we have a unit on the ground: we're making an onsite assessment
President Charles Logan : Spare the agency "pattern", just get it done
Bill Buchanan : Sir, you need to be aware, we should be prepared to accept additional civilian casualties
President Charles Logan : More casualties?
Bill Buchanan : It's a possibility we have to face Sir
President Charles Logan : [to Mike, pointing at him] I'm not prepared to accept any such thing. Bill, it's your job to get those people out of there alive
Bill Buchanan : Mr. President, the terrorists are wearing explosive vests: they've threatened to detonate themselves and the hostages if any attempt is made to retake the terminal
President Charles Logan : I'm aware of the situation
Mike Novick : Bill, have you tried initiating a dialog with the terrorists?
President Charles Logan : Yes, what about talking to them? Have you tried that?
Bill Buchanan : Beresch placed the call to an airport police sergeant: it was a blocked number but we're in the process of back tracing it
President Charles Logan : Look, whatever you do, make sure it's done by the deadline. When I put my name on that accord, I do not want to be signing the death warrant of American citizens
Bill Buchanan : [Before hanging up] yes, Mr. President
