Dilemma

Warning: Spoilers
This was an interesting episode as a high school student asks Hanson to kill her father who has been molesting her, and Hanson has a big dilemma. It makes you think about what you might do in his situation. I did find it a bit tough to watch but still liked it.

underage girls

This show aired 30 years ago, but even taking that into account, there is an ick factor when these cops show interest in underage high school girls. This isn't the first episode in which that happens. They are probably only a few years older than these girls, but those few years are pretty important, comparing a high school girl and an adult man.

I have this on for background noise when I'm cleaning or cooking, but this has really stood out - makes my skin crawl.

Blindsided

Hanson and Penhall are posing as the McQuaid Brothers at a high school. They are trying to get to the members of a school drug ring to score s big deal, that kind that would land them a bigger fish.

As the McQuaid Brothers have a tough reputation, it is rumoured that one of them killed a man. Hanson is approached by a distressed student, Diane Nelson (Sherilyn Fenn) to kill her father. She offers him $1,700.

Only problem is that asking someone to kill a person is a felony and Hanson finds out that her dad is a cop.

Hanson does not immediately report the matter to Captain Fuller and does his own investigations. Hanson suspects that Captain Nelson might be sexually abusing his daughter.

21 Jump Street tries to tackle adult themes but I found the writing to be wanting. It just cannot step up the drama. The showdown between Hanson and Captain Nelson was badly staged.

Out of interest I noted Don S Davis was cast as the high school principal. Along with Fenn, that is two people who would go on to do Twin Peaks.
