Plot Summary

George is watching the screen entranced. He is 58, single, and a projectionist. He is in love with Stefania, the beautiful Italian actress he sees every night on the silver screen. If only he could escape to her world, where he wasn't tormented by Mr. Harris, his lunatic, sausage-eating, Scottish boss. Andrei, the Russian cinema cleaner also dreams of a life on the silver screen. If only he could escape from his world of sweeping floors and scrubbing toilets. Enter Antonio, the impossibly neurotic Italian film director, who is determined to make a name for himself with his new epic 'Red Carpet', a combined remake of Cinema Paradiso and Pulp Fiction. He is a man who is destined to change the lives of everyone he meets ...but only if he clinches a deal with movie mogul Harold Winestain. Written by Anonymous

Trivia Filmed secretly over a period of 5 years at BAFTA headquarters in Piccadilly, London. Every area from the ground floor to the roof was used to create almost all the locations required for the film, including: Projection Room, Arabian Palace, Job Centre, Cinecittà Film Studio, Parisian Bar, Cinema, New York and London Production Offices, Elevator, Toilets, Cleaner's Cupboard and special sets for the dream sequences. George Warner also kept all of his costumes (including pajamas) at work in his locker for several years, as most filming was unscheduled and had to be fitted in around official bookings within the building. Goofs The script is visible in several scenes, although since it was written in a notebook or on scraps of paper, it is not easy to make out. See more »
