- at some points in the game, Jake says "Woo hoo I smell underpants!"

- the player can chase chickens, cats and other small animals and pick them up and shake them to get a treat.
- at certain points in the game, the dog catcher will come after Jake with his own dog, a doberman. if the dog catcher's dog catches Jake a scene will play where the dog catcher places a net over Jake's head and the scene will end with Jake losing a bone. not violent.
- at 2 points in the game there is a man armed with a gun and will shoot Jake if he comes too close. Jake cannot die however, and he will appear back at the same place he started and will say "how did I end up here?".
- towards the end of the game it is implied that dogs are being used in the production of cat food.
- the final level, the pet food factory is rather gruesome in detail. there are machines in the factory which are covered with blood and many have bloody saw blades, smashers, etc, and also there is a meat processor machine in which a dog normally goes into one end and cat food cans come out the other.

- there are many scatological references and humor throughout, mostly from Jake. the players can make Jake fart, poop and pee in front of others and they will often be insulted.
- "doggie asses" is used once.

- the level outside the pet food factory is spooky as it is barren land with some dead looking trees and also there are many dogs in cages which the player must set free all while being chased by a doberman.
- some could be upset by how dogs are being used for pet food production as this actually happens in real life as well.
- many might find the pet food factory and the pet food factory's machines quite disturbing.

- At the very end of the game, Ms. Peaches is thrown into the dog food machine. The machine describes what happens to her in a detailed way. After this, we can see her as dog food. This might be disturbing for younger children.
