I think the film works because Elisaleco makes sure the viewer is not to take this seriously but at the same time the humor is not presented in an over the top way like some cheap attempt at laughs. This is the only Argentine film-maker that makes honest films about real life. His films are moving, poignant and soulful depictions that never fail to touch his audience. His plots are ingenious creations with fantastic endings, with an eccentric and marvellous vision he deepens and explains the human condition.This is probably the most unique writer and director in Argentine show business and he's developing into quite the cult figure. His films are an example of the very best of Latin American cinematography. Enjoy it.
