Amazing reboot of a pretty great cartoon

Roobarb & Custard Too is a fantastic reboot and a step-up from the already great 1974 classic, Roobarb. It improves on many things and is just all around better!

The new stories stay faithful to the original series, whilst being modern at the same time (both this and the 1974 cartoon were written by Grange Calvey). Much like the original, the plots are very entertaining and have our main character go on many unique and crazy adventures. The characters too stay faithful to their personalities in the classic series. In fact, it feels more like a second season to the original than a reboot, only this time set in the 2000's.

The new designs for the characters are brilliant. In fact, I'd say they're superior to the original designs. Whenever I think of Roobarb, I think of his design here.

Now for a major problem in the original that this show thankfully fixes, and that's the animation. It can still look a bit choppy at times and still lacks the lip-syncing (except in the original, a few episodes like "When There Was Someone Else" did have lip movements), the animation looks pretty decent here and is FFFAAAAARRRRRRRRRR better than in the original series. Despite not being animated with markers, it keeps the unique style the original had. I'd honestly be fine if the previous show was animated like that.

So in conclusion, Roobarb & Custard Too is a really good reboot that's even better than the original. Sadly, (much like it's predecessor) it only got one season and never had a second, which is a shame since this show could have been an ongoing show with many more episodes. Let's just hope another reboot happens with much more episodes.
