Faces of Death...the Eastern version
haildevilman6 January 2008
OK...it's nowhere NEAR that gross...nor that fake.

This was a series of videos that came out in the 80's and 90's that were loaded with all kinds of shocking scenes.

We start with the Challenger disaster complete with Christa MacAuliffe's anguished parents watching. From there it goes from usual (Kennedy's assassination) to scary (Suicides bomber's remains, the Jeff Doucett killing) to funny (Fistfights breaking out on TV shows) to 'say what?' (Footage of hangliders) Japan didn't include anything from their own atrocities or freaky list, but the rest of the world were well included. In the fistfight section, Wally George's 'Hotseat' had a lot of the attention. Including Canadian Rabbi Irv Rubin being restrained from punching out white supremacist Tom Metzger.

Part 2 was more of the same. As the series progressed, you got specialty tapes. Sports spectacle, crashes, animal follies, and stuff like that. Some of it was too graphic for kids, some could have been a kids show.

Shocks part 3 was the early 70's shock-dock 'Jabberwalk' (aka "This is America.') Check my blurb there for details.

You can find this entire series in any used video shop in Japan.
