Last weeks India’s RAWstar opened with the challenge from mentor Himesh to the contestants, that they have to sing live in front of their fans in their favourite cities because performing live and connecting with the audience, is the only way to take their music to the next level.
The audience were shown, how the contestants participated in various radio interviews and their journeys to their home towns, to meet their fans.
The first live performance that we got to see, was from Jeffrey Iqbal. Jeffrey performed ‘Yun Hi Chala’ live for his fans and he received an overwhelming response. The second live performance was from Darshan Raval who went to his home town Ahmedabad, to meet his biggest fan and to sing ‘Pehla Nasha’ live for the audience. Mentor Hr is still amazed that Darshan has composed such a fine love song (‘Pehli Mohobbat’) at such a young age.

Pran Kishan Sikand
Pran Kishan Sikand dreamt of becoming a professional photographer. Little did he know that a measly, humble ‘paan’ (betel leaf) would change his life and set him on his destined path. It was 1939 or thereabouts. Pran was at a ‘paan’ shop at Lahore, enjoying a munch with his friends when a stranger approached him and asked whether he wanted to act in films. Pran was amused and asked his name. Stranger introduced himself as Muhammad Walli, a renowned film maker in the flourishing film district of Lahore. He said he was making a Punjabi film and Pran looked a perfect fit for the role of a villain in the film. Pran just brushed him off. Walli kept insisting that he pay a visit to the studio, and pushed a piece of paper with his address into Pran’s hands. The film was Yamla Jat (1940), a runaway hit that year.

Dia Mirza is unperturbed about the fact that she has no films after her just released 'Hum, Tum Aur Ghost' because she says she would rather wait for good films than do unsatisfying work.'I'm not doing anything after 'Hum Tum Aur Ghost'. If this was the situation five years ago, I would have got so worried and this fact would have killed me; it would have bothered me no end,' Dia told Ians in an interview.'But now I am in a position where I am financially comfortable; so I am not working in a film to get that extra money. I am working in a film if I want to be a part of it. I'm in a position today that if I don't get the right role, I can sit at home for six months and not do a film that I don't believe in,...

Ever since the beginning of his career, Emraan Hashmi has maintained that he prefers working in solo starrers. If at all he has to work in a multi starrer then the script and his role has to be really enticing enough for him to say yes to a project.
No wonder, his repertoire of films since the time he began his career in 2003 reads only two multi starrers (Footpath, Chocolate), while he has worked in multiple solo/two lead protagonists films like Raaz - The Mystery Continues, Awarapan, Jannat, The Train, Good Boy Bad Boy, Dil Diya Hai, The Killer, Gangster, Aksar, Jawani Diwani - A Youthful Ride, Kalyug, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Zeher, Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Murder.
This is the reason why.

A statement by former Bhatts’ loyalist Anurag Basu that he’d love to revive the project Suicide Bomber albeit in a new avatar packaging and with a new cast, has the outspoken Bhatt seething in anger.
Suicide Bomber about a terrorist on a suicide mission, not unlike what we saw in Mumbai on 26/11, was a film that was planned as a launch pad for Mahesh Bhatt’s only son Sunny three years ago when Basu had finished Gangster. Anurag was halfway through another Bhatt project Tumsa Nahin Dekha when the director fell seriously ill.
The ever-generous Mahesh looked after Anurag.
