Plot Summary

Dorothea von Siethoff, owner of an international chain of select hotels, sends her nephew Markus Winter incognito to Mauritius. The experienced Hamburg hotel manager should get an idea of whether Tina Berger is not overwhelmed with the management of the luxury hotel. The efficient Tina has worked her way up from a simple chambermaid to acting director and knows the business inside out. Tina pampers her guests, who feel like they are in paradise on the hotel's own beach, with great care and every imaginable comfort. But at the moment she is torn between work, motherly duties and a relationship crisis with her unsteady boyfriend Klaus. Tina has noticed that her managerial qualities are to be tested. Stupidly, she mistakes Pastor Stefan, the frugal winner of a competition, for Frau von Siethoff's spy and does her best to sweeten his vacation. Tina's assistant Janin takes care of him so attentively that the spark between the two soon jumps over. Markus, on the other hand, is plagued by bad luck: from the transfer to the hotel to accommodation in a broom closet, everything goes wrong. Assuming he is from the staff, Markus is even ordered to clean the pool. The discerning hotelier initially has every reason to thoroughly doubt Tina's abilities. As a professional, however, he soon recognizes her professional strengths: In fact, she has everything under control and can improvise charmingly even under the greatest stress. Markus feels more and more attracted to the impulsive woman, and Tina also falls in love with this extremely charming gentleman "Meier". But when she finds out who she is actually dealing with, even the starry sky over Mauritius cannot match the mood brighten more. Written by ARD Das Erste
