But sadly, not the ultimate movie. More like the ultimate pretense. "In the Garden" is an 18-minute live action short film from over 10 years ago and it is the most known (and almost the only) work by writer and director Craig Dittrich. And from what I have seen here, I cannot say this makes me particularly sad. The premise here seemed to be to go for especially attractive cast members, to make up for potential shortcoming in acting and range. I am mostly talking about the females here, but I guess the male lead (an Owen Wilson lookalike) is somewhat attractive too. Still, it needs to be said that the actors are still superior to the script which offers really very little. It is a perfect example of a film that is basically made up of attempted beautiful scenes and metaphorical references, here in the biblical context, but the talent to make all these scenes work together and create an impressive achievement is just not there. I do not recommend "In the Garden". Thumbs down. If you want to check it out nonetheless, it is uploaded here on IMDb.
