Have just discovered this is on Netflix. Forgot just how much I loved it - I'm still cracking up all these years later! Yeah some bits are cringey , but there you go. Jocelyn makes this show in my opinion - she's hilarious!!

Hilarious, original, harmless fun!

This is a brilliant series demonstrating the improvisational talents of three female, extremely talented UK comics, who wander the high streets of the UK making themselves look ridiculous in front of hidden cameras, all for our entertainment. The joke is always on the performers, never on the member or the public which is why this format works so brilliantly. The short sketches, with quick stings will leave your sides aching and belly laughing more than anything you have seen in a long time. A brilliant commission by the BBC - brave and original. Long may it run and run.

Good stuff !

this is one of the funniest shows i have ever seen. it is really refreshing to watch and i was in stitches many times. i guess there is a social awareness factor to this too which makes it quite interesting. if these were white girls would they get the same reaction? maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't? the characters know no limits (check my lyrics) and do not exclude anyone from their twisted sense of fun! There are so many funny sketches. my favorites is the bob the builder one. it's so silly it's genius. if you like twisted black comedy then this is for you. if you like keeping up appearances it probably isn't.3 non blonde's is yet another hilarious British BBC comedy shown on TV! It is such a funny show and the characters unleashed on the unsuspecting public are laugh at loud funny! It would be impossible to keep a straight face watching the crazy characters and the reactions of the public! This series easily adds to the excellent comedies being produced!

Thanks BBC

Thanks to the BBC for this show. I used to suffer from an inferiority complex, I hated leaving the house, talking to new people and I had an overwhelming sense that people hated me. However after watching one episode of 4 Non Blondes my fortunes started to change. After episode 2 I started applying for new jobs, wearing fashionable clothes and I actually felt talented. When the series had finished I was running the sales department at work, banging a plethora of women and frequently won the karaoke competition down my local. If you ever have a confidence crisis and don't know where to turn then take a trip down to Poundland and pick up the DVD it's only 99p.

Three unfunny comedians do the same thing every week
david_kravitz14 December 2006
Picture the scene where a bunch of scriptwriters sit around a table and one says "lets have a black woman approach an unsuspecting member of the public (also black) in the street and ask him if he is black, then walk away". The other writers fall about laughing hysterically until one suggests they repeat it in every episode. More laughter. Now if you think the premise is funny, and the show contains many such types of situation, you will enjoy this show. For the rest, use your zapper and find something more entertaining like watching paint dry. Those that have written glowing reports of this show should either get out more or be forced to watch television comedies that are really funny. Another example of the humor in the show, a girl tries to get out of paying at a supermarket checkout by trying to hypnotise the cashier. Marginally funny the first time but why repeat it over and over in different shows with different cashiers? I could give other examples but these just might be treated as spoilers, divulging why this comedy just is not funny at all.

Pathetic
AKeeb7 October 2006
Here is what happened:

1) Head of BBC3 needs to make programmes aimed at different audience to BBC1 and BBC2 to keep licence and job.

2) Lenny Henry offers his unfunny friends up.

3) Head of BBC3 snaps them up, completely ignoring the fact that they are not funny.

Worst of all, it is arguably racist, as all the characters play up to bad stereotypes. If a white person did this kind of thing, there'd be uproar!

Trash.

a hit!

Fantastic series, featuring really funny comediennes.

They do some great 'tricks' on the general public and the tricks are always in good fun.

This show is a bit like Trigger Happy TV - but better, as the 'victims' are not in fact victims - the jokes are not cruel.

Also the sketches are quicker - very fast, with a great punchline.

The 3 non-blondes are very talented, and are also great in the Lenny Henry Show.

Sketches of note include a woman who runs up to people, out of breath and asks them if they are black (which they invariably are) before running off again!

I only hope they make more series...

3 Non Blondes Is Hilarious
Virgowoman26 October 2005
This comedy is usually on BBC Three and stars female comedians, Tameka Epson, Jocelyn Jee Esien and Ninia Benjamin.

These outrageous ladies go on Britain's quiet or foggy streets with a hidden camera and basically embarrass themselves and other people in the most extreme way without being suspected of filming themselves and others looking like fools. Unsuspecting members of the public fall Victim to these pranksters in the most strange situations at random.

I think this show is certainly comedy with an edge. Simply because it takes silliness and humour itself to the next level. The sketches are both original and clever.

What's is even more funny is they turn the everyday normality of the British High Street, Shopping Centre, work-place or seaside into a place where there is a non-stop comedy fest. You can think every one of the most embarrassing situations you would hate to be in, these girls create and act out the un-thinkable occurrences in the most inappropriate places.

My fav sketches from the show includes:

Jocelyn's sketch about the woman who goes on the train, talks to fellow passengers about a ghastly smell on the train. She later admits the smell of 'Thrush' is coming for herself full on. I mean what kind of person what do that in real life? She takes this particular sketch so far that you feel your stomach tickling with laughter because you feel embarrassed for her.

Jocelyn's sketches on the woman with the funny mouth are also funny. She usually approaches people who at leisure with themselves and disturbs them, by acting as if she is perhaps asking for directions. Only to open her mouth with non-stop gibberish passing through. I always wonder why all these people have so much time to be so polite and listen to her nonsense? I know if it where me I would want to walk off after a while.

Ninia Benjamin goes to a branch of Thornton's to buy a box of chocolates and ends up eating the chocolates in the shop. Which then makes her sing Donna Summer's classic love song 'Love To Love You,' inside the shop. The sales assistants unaware they are on camera don't know whether to tell her to shut up and sling her hook or watch with amusement along with the public at home. After she sings the verses from that song for a while standing up, she then collapses on the floor as if she is in bed with her man. Yes, you have guessed it she is still inside the shop. Why doesn't any tell her to leave? The funny thing here is no disrespect to Ninia herself, but she is quite a bosom and wholesome lady. So the spectacles of seeing her roll around seductively like Beyonce while continuing to sing 'Love To Love You' is hilarious to say the least. No one as usual does anything until the spectacle is 100% out of hand.

Tameka usually goes round shopping centres approaching men who she doesn't know. Sometimes making crazy requests by asking them to spread something or other on her body. Like something spread able from her shopping bag, butter perhaps to make her feel sexy because she can't get a man.

The sketches are hilarious to the bone and will have you in outrageous and uncontrolable fits of laughter. When you think these can't take the embarrassing situations they create any further, they turn to the imaginable. You will laugh so much you will think you are turning as mad as the three Non-Blondes themselves. Outrageous and original British contemporary Comedy. I am not surprised Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan are fans as well! Along with Little Britain, this is the best form of laughter currently on the box! Rating: 10/10

Best thing to cure your insomnia

Laugh no i did not. From what i saw and heard i would think these three clearly non blondes either have dirty information on the Producer of this rubbish or he tried to stop them making this and they put him up on racist charge to make this crap. If you want any benefit from this try using the mute button. You won't have listen to this unfunny dribble but you see some nice sites of London if you haven't traveled.

I would expect this crap on some cable station in the USA at 4am in the morning than on our ABC in Australia in normal viewing time.

These three have to look at the big picture and realise they are not funny time to get a real job, maybe check out chicks or traffic wardens or better still somewhere below the streets like mining in a very deep hole with a warning to their workmates to wear ear muffs at all times. If you have trouble sleeping forget counting sheep if you can face it, your a braver person than i, watch this show and you will fall asleep.

absolute brilliance
princexzahra20 May 2004
3non Blondes was the best sketch show I've ever seen, its pure genius!!, its just started in Australia and I've seen 2 episodes and never laughed so much in a television show. The people who put this down cant see the risk the 3 go to in the sketches, Trigger Happy TV was poor as Dom Jolly used soft targets such as old people sitting on benches. These 3 go to risker lenghts to get a laugh. My fave is the "virgin" and the lady who goes up to people and goes "would you like to f***. absolute brilliance. 5 stars!. The reason this has a low budget is because it is on bbc 3 and it stars 3 black woman approaching people in the street its risky to give them more than a minimal budget. Its sold internationally so obviously its a winner. funny to see that the 2 bad reviews were from 2 brits and the 2 good ones from aussies, hey if you don't want these funny ladys well glady take em.

Zero imagination, zero laughs and zero value
bob the moo18 April 2004
Following on from the hidden camera antics of Trigger Happy TV, the BBC decided to commission a show that brings an `ethnic spice' to this formula by letting three black female comedians loose on the streets to interact with the public in a variety of personas. With a budget that must have extended to all of the change from the Director General's pockets, I can understand why BBC3 were happy to give this the green light - not only does it fill 30 minutes of screen time but it does it cheaply and, if nobody watches it, it doesn't matter because NOBODY watches BBC3!

Being a fan of Trigger Happy TV, I gave this a try as I thought that it might be able to do something with the genre or at least be funny. However this show lacks any imagination, wit or humour and instead just falls into very basic and lazy stunts that are more embarrassing than funny - forget the weird and wonderful acts of Dom Joly, this stuff is a million years behind that. Some of the sketches are just plain stupid with little real reason behind them; these ones are very short as they can't even sustain a few minutes. The majority of the sketches involve brash characters just being rude or socially weird as people try to just humour them until they go away - in fact this happens most times, and it just isn't very funny at all. Most of us have to deal with rude people - whether it be people in a rush who are more important than you, people who push into queues or weirdoes on the street who just won't leave you alone, however these interactions are not funny and usually we just grin and nod and be polite as we just walk away or wait for them to leave. So who thought that it would be hilarious to exaggerate these characters and film them as the public just try and put up with them?

The three comediennes are just brash and unfunny - I don't wish to make general statements BUT their whole comedy seems to be drawn from just being loud and rude - here and in their various stand-up guises. They play the worst characters one could imagine but they do it without wit and humour and they come off as just annoying - not only to those being filmed but to the audience as well. The `hidden camera' thing is a crock as well - most sketches are filmed by three cameras and you can see the other cameras being held (!) or `hidden' inside of backpacks that people are wearing on their chest! It makes a mockery of even the idea of hidden camera that they are so blatantly being filmed from very close range.

I understand why this got the green light - it is cheap to make and can be knocked off at a rate of an episode every two days depending on the breaks. However it is not the low budget that is the blame for this, rather it is the complete lack of imagination and wit and is really just annoying. Take my advice, go and rent the dvd of Trigger Happy TV and see how the hidden camera formula can be delivered with a bit of imagination.

Hilarious, brave and wacky
funkiste19 August 2005
This show has me in stitches for half an hour every time I watch it. The humour is so random and it's easy to laugh at because it's very harmless humour. Unlike shows such as Trigger Happy TV, where they get laughs out of humiliating members of the public, this show encourages the public to laugh at them instead. And if they don't get a laugh, they just do something even more ridiculous until they do.

Basically, this is like a sketch show, in which the 3 comediennes play different characters in different situations, only in this programme, they are not in a TV studio, they are in the street in front of real people, which is what makes it so funny.

My favourite characters are the "very busy" lady who can't stand waiting, the "friend of Elizabeth Taylor's" who thinks she has the right to queue-jumping, the social worker who is helping her friend re-integrate into society, the woman who can't speak without making strange noises, and the Animals Seeking Kindness charity collector who "just wants to play." These insane characters and many more, are all played out in front of unsuspecting members of the public that don't realise they are dealing with comedians, and seeing them trying to keep a straight face is hilarious.

So Unfunny It`s Painful
Theo Robertson5 March 2004
The premise of this show is simple: Get three non blonde woman on a hidden camera show and get them to take part in spoof dancing , singing and other type of tomfoolery with the great British public , a sort of Brit Jackass . Doesn`t this sound very entertaining ? You`re right . It doesn`t . This show is so bad it`s painful to watch , the three women involved are not funny as they make fools of themselves by standing in a British high street trying to get passers by to join in the fun and games

If it`s so bad why did the BBC comission it ? That`s simple to answer , because it`s so bloody cheap to make . If you`re a BBC executive what would you choose to make - A sitcom involving actors that`s going to cost tens of thousands of pounds or another hidden camera show that`s going to cost a few hundred pound to make ? At least the BBC chose the cheap option . I should also point out that the three jokers on the show are all black which means the cynical BBC can accuse people like myself who dislike the show of being racist . I`m not racist but I do have a sense of humour unlike everyone involved in this cheap , unfunny show
