Sex & Nudity

  • A swim coach at a pool wears a speedo.
  • A man mentions hosting wet t-shirt contests.
  • Women are portrayed as sexual objects throughout the entire movie.
  • Two women are propped up on a table in short shorts while a man judges their body.
  • On various occasions, we see the family's male dog humping a large, stuffed duck toy (at one point, the kids see this and call it "wrestling"). That includes it doing so in fast forward motion, and while "seated" back in a chair with the toy on top of him.
  • Twice, Michael and his wife have sex in fast forward, but all you see in the shadow on the wall. Which is him humping her (a shadow of a dog is also briefly shown humping Michael) This only lasts a few seconds.
  • The remote takes Michael and Morty to the "making of" his life, and they end up in a room with Michael's parents having sex, but you don't see anything except the sheets moving. When Michael tries to get himself out of that room, he fast forwards to his birth.
  • Michael states that he and Morty are inside his mother's vagina, though there is nothing anatomical about the scene. He and Morty are standing in a dark room and there is light coming through a slit in the "wall."
  • You see a doctor's hands open the slit wider and then his face is revealed. Again, this is mostly innuendo and does not actually show a woman's vagina.
  • In one scene, Michael fast-forwards his way into driving to work, but changes it to slow-motion to gaze at a blonde, tanned, beautiful jogger's slow 34D breasts physics for a few seconds. Unlike the trailer, we could hear a deep "slosh" sound from them, implying to carry milk.
  • Donna wears a Pocahontas costume while playing with her son, and then offers to "play with" her husband at night while wearing the costume, implying sex.
  • When Samantha is 14, Michael is shocked to see her grown up and makes a remark about when she got her boobs, prompting her to respond that she received hers around the same time that he received his (as he is overweight now and has breasts). Later when she is 27 he sees a picture of her and, believing her to be his son's girlfriend, calls her hot and chesty, only to be informed that it is his daughter.

Violence & Gore

  • A man has a heart attack, sending him to the hospital.
  • The neighbor kid makes fun of Ben while playing catch with him (for not being able to catch the ball). Michael then freezes time, adjusts the boy's hand and glove, and then restarts time, causing the ball to hit the boy in the face and knock him to the ground.
  • When Ammer won't give Michael his promotion, he freezes time and hits Ammer repeatedly across the face, and then farts in his face.
  • Micheal pauses time and kicks Bill several times in the crotch, then unfreezes time, whereupon Bill promptly falls to the ground and screams.

Profanity

  • "Fuck" is said once.
  • "Shit" is said 10 times.
  • 3 uses of words for male genitals, including "schmeckel" and "dick" with another possible one of the latter.
  • 5 uses if words for breasts, including "t*tties" and variations of "boob".
  • "*ss" is said ten times.
  • "H*ll" is said 7 times.
  • 3 variations of "crap".
  • "D*mn" is said three times.
  • "B*tch" is said once.
  • A 7-year-old boy exclaims "Are you shitting me?" (The boy is scolded by his grandma afterwards).
  • At least 1 "f" word (with another incomplete one), 10 "s" words, 3 slang terms for sex ("do it," "doing" and what sounded like "humpy bumpy"), 3 for male genitals ("schmeckel" and "d*ck" with another possible one of the latter), 5 for breasts ("t*tties" and variations of "boob"), 10 asses, 7 hells, 3 variations of crap, 3 damns, 1 S.O.B., 7 uses of "Oh my God," 3 of "God," 2 each of "G-damn," "My God" and "Oh God" and 1 use of "Jesus."
  • Typical PG-13 level profanity.
  • The main character uses "Motherf***" as an exclamation, though the scene is deliberately cut off mid-sentence. This happens off-screen, so the word is also not revealed by the character's lips.
  • 7 uses of "Oh my God," 3 of "God," 2 each of "G**d*mn," "My God" and "Oh God" and 1 use of "Jesus."
  • One man flips off another.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Thinking he's hallucinating while observing the remote's powers, Michael surmises that mass quantities of cough syrup and snack food means "You get acid."
  • When Michael is talking to the neighbor boy, he is smoking a cigar. When the boy's mother comes out, she says how she didn't know Michael smoked cigars and Michael tells her that he snatched it away from Kevin and that he thinks he smells marijuana inside it.
  • Michael's daughter asks him if he has smoked crack

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The second half of the film becomes dramatic and contains some sad scenes.
  • Having skipped through time, Michael learns that the family dog has died (this could be upsetting for anyone who's recently lost a pet).
  • In the future, a doctor comes at Michael with a huge needle to sedate him, but Michael causes that needle to inject the doctor (after distracting him). This is played as comedy, but those afraid of needles might not like the sight.
  • In the graveyard scene, Michael tries to attack Morty and Morty disappears and reappears, very suddenly and unexpectedly.
  • Despite being a comedy, the ending gets surprisingly very sad and may make you cry.
  • Adam Sandler's character pauses time to fart in someone's face this could be disturbing to some viewers
  • For tweens/teens.
  • None for neurodivergent viewers.
  • Michael calls Morty and he appears suddenly as a figure in his kitchen arch. This could be frightening.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Christopher Walken's character is revealed to be the angel of death.
  • Every time Michael has skipped a time in his life Morty explains that work always got in the way instead of family. Can be intense for some people hearing this.
  • The scene where Michael frames the neighbor's kid with the cigar Michael himself was smoking out of earlier to get him in trouble may disturb some viewers who were victims of child abuse
  • In the future, as an ailing Michael tries to get to his adult children, he faints in the hospital parking lot. After telling his ex-wife and his children he loves them, he dies (although it turns out to be a dream). This scene can be very sad for some.
  • The scene where Michael last sees his father alive is very emotional and may be upsetting to viewers who have lost their fathers.
