This films combines the biographical account of several commanders of People's Liberation Army, all of them were minority Yi people and all of them were slaves. Once they were liberated and joined Red Army, they eventually rise in ranks, and then helped to abolish slavery when the communist took over. The survivors of wars were finally awarded the rank of Major General in 1955.
