He shot him in the butt!
planktonrules3 December 2021
This short from Paramount begins in a courtroom. It seems that someone shot Walter (Walter Catlett) in the butt and the court case concerns this shooting. When Elmer (Grady Sutton) testifies, a long flashback sequence follows. It seems that Elmer had just married a woman and soon after, Walter insinuates himself into their home. Elmer soon realizes his wife is Walter's ex-wife! And, Walter is spending WAY too much time and attention on the lady...to the point where you can understand EXACTLY why Walter got shot! What's next? See the film.

I generally don't love these films produced by Mack Sennett for Paramount. However, here the story is good and the gags work well...making it a pleasant 20 minutes of viewing.

Three On A Honeymoon
boblipton26 November 2021
Grady Sutton is being tried for shooting Walter Catlett in the behind. As the case progresses, the facts emerge that Sutton and Nora Cecil were on their honeymoon when Catlett, Miss Cecil's first husband, moved in.

It's a funny late Mack Sennett comedy. Director George Marshall moves this one along at a good clip in a pre-Code bit of a story that Catlett, in his annoying moder, had starred in before. Billy Bletcher plays the judge, showing off his fine bass voice.

Another wacky Mack Sennett comedy short
SimonJack8 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"Huband's Reunion" is one of the late short comedies made by Mack Sennett. Walter Catlett is the center of this comedy. He and female lead, Nora Lane, keep their first names. The two had been married but were now divorced. Grady Sutton plays Elmer, Nora's new husband of two weeks.

The setting is in a courtroom with flashbacks. Walter is a wanderer, and Elmer is on trial for having given him a dose of buckshot in the rump while on a hunting trip for Swiss Grouse. You can tell that game bird by its distinct call –yodelayio. Walter is often mistaken for his amorous advances, but it's not hard to see why. In the end, Elmer is declared innocent by the judge who picks up his shotgun, brought as an item of evidence, to himself deliver a salvo of shot to Walter in the behind. The wily Walter has been carrying on with his honor's wife in the courtroom.

This is one of those wacky Mack Sennett shorts that have any number of unrelated things tossed in – so long as it's comedy. And that makes it all the funnier. See the Quotes section for some funny lines from this film, here on the film's IMDb Web page.
