Coulda been a contender

I enjoy Jerome Tanner's work, definitely pegging him as an unsung porn director. This feature is well-made, but that old culprit Cash Markman with his facetious scripting tends to ruin Tanner's best intentions.

So we have a familiar story of marital infidelity that for no particular reason (other than Cash's poor taste and ineptitude) turns into a ripoff of the HItchcock classic "Rear Window". You can't blame the more recent debacle of a flood of porn parodies crowding out (via Gresham's Law) quality narrative Adult features out of the marketplace, but he surely pioneered this lamentable genre.

Herschel Savage is the main adulterer, introduced humping the fine fetish queen Amber Michaels in a claustrophobic car, against a studio backdrop simulating an exterior scene. He's laid up with a sprained dick (in a heavy cast) for the duration after Amber accidentally slams the car door on it.

From there he watches via binoculars (Jimmy Stewart-style) the sexual goings-on in the apartment building across the way. It's mainly filler on the level of burlesque routines thanks to writer Cash, yet a germ of a real movie lies lurking underneath the surface.
