Much before the onslaught of senseless village stories with cliched characters , loud music and fights became the norm in Tamil, this movie comes as a breath of fresh air . Karthik is the back bone of this movie .He is super as a c simple ton who believes Khushboo and sends his mother Manorama to ask her hand in marriage , an angry son , an innocent right hand man to the village head and finally some one who has come of age and realises Revathi needs protection . He was a rising star then . It shows . Revathi and Khushboo are resplendent in their silks and jewellery. Khushboo is a haughty rich man's daughter . she teases and torments Karthik who is a village dancer and finally falls for him. Her worried father gets her engaged to her cousin ( Vijay kumar's son ). But the marriage gets called off when the groom suspects something between his bride and Karthik. Vijaykumar is a natural as a sleek soft spoken villain . His mistress Sulakshana has taken in Revathi ( an orphan ) and Janak raj ( a street performer ) a few years back .To show gratitude they remain with her till the end despite knowing her profession. After her death Vijay Kumar keeps baiting for Revathi . Karthik and Revathi keep crossing their paths as they are in the same village . Karthik's mother Manorama dies and Khushboo is held responsible for this . A sad dejected Khushboo leaves her rich family and tries to meet and marry Karthik who rejects her . Finally he unites with Revathi and they leave this village quietly . Over all a nice movie without much actions or fights . It also has a couple of nice songs .
