"There will be a trail of bodies leading right to them"

So says the voice-over on the fun trailer for Sister Street Fighter, one of the many eclectic jewels to be found on volume seven of Something Weird Video's trailer series.

I was somewhat disappointed with the selection of volume six, but volume seven makes up for it. In spite of having almost no trailers for horror movies, volume seven delivers thanks to the more obscure (to me anyway) selections. I had no idea that independent filmmaker John Cassavetes made a biker movie called Devil's Angels with giallo girl Mimsy Farmer. Another surprise is The Swimming Pool with Alain Delon leading a cast of beautiful people having beautiful 1970 sex in beautiful locations. Coming out of nowhere was the most important film of 1971 at least according to its trailer, the forgotten Pigeons (Judith Christ loved it though). I was equally curious about the Adam West sexploitation film The Specialist and the Christopher George starrer Whisky Mountain, both new to me.

Even the films I did know offered surprises. I may not find Cheri Caffaro overly attractive, but The Girls Are For Loving trailer reminded me that she could do a sexy striptease. The wild Venus in Furs had an appropriately odd trailer. The John Barth adaptation End of the Road gets a trailer that makes the film look far better than my memory of it. Finally, I wish in my heart of hearts that the film The Touchables was as much fun as its trailer, which I could watch just about every day.

Volume Seven rebounds nicely from the lackluster previous entry.
