Humor and impressive acting make this thriller stand out among the crowd.

This film hooked me from the opening black-and-white nightmare and managed to keep me enthralled for the next hour or so. While the plot may not be the freshest, elements such as humor, unusual twists and good actors kept this breezy thriller moving. I especially enjoyed Harley Kaplan's relaxed and real performance as Nick, the semi-clueless guy-next-door who guides the viewer through this increasingly weird tale of supposed house-sitting.

JENNIFER ZONACKIS and HARLEY KAPLAN make a movie worth seeing

Jennifer IS the reason to see Ritual. As treasurer of her fanclub, I can say that her performance in Horro moveis is becoming a staple for Indie horror movies.

We take for granted how good HARLEY KAPLAN is. Kudos to Michale Evanichko's movie making skills as they sharpen.

creepy low budget thriller

Ritual is definitely an entertaining flick. Although I wouldn't describe it as the most frightening movie I've ever seen, it has a wonderful creepy horror film vibe to it. The Rudy Moore character seems to be the typical horror film main character, not too bright and oblivious to the world around him. Harley Kaplan's character, Nick, was much better developed. Overall, it was very well acted by everyone and although it had a few cheesy moments it was a very good movie if you're into horror films.

fun, campy horror flick

I really enjoyed this movie. It has that dark, gritty feel of cult horror films combined with some nice performances from Harley Kaplan, Jennifer Zonakis and the rest of the cast. If you like the campy, cult horror flick, you'll like this one.

Tremendous CULTural appeal!

Ritual is a fun movie to watch. I won't say that I was perched precariously on the edge of my seat for the duration, but there were more than a few moments that made me jump and effects that left me just the right amount of nauseated! Harley Kaplan gives his character, Nick Brass, a kind of mid-western-college-kid innocence that culminates into the best part about this film; it is somehow a "cute little horror movie." It's frightening, funny, and has the requisite dose of indy-horror cliche to make it a film that everyone should spend 58 minutes of their life experiencing! If you get the chance, check it out along with any other Harley Kaplan movie!
