riot

An absolute riot for any korn fan to see. Documents the process of Life is Peachy and also the videos off of their debut album, Korn. Shows never before seen behind the scene shots of the band drunk and talkng about each other. A brief bio is also recorded from the band themselves.

The good ol' days
pipedream70421 February 2008
I'm not some raving fan throwing 10/10 around lightly, but this short home video is just so goddamn good.

I can't remember what year I bought this, presumably in '97 when it came out, which would make me... 13 at the time. And I was so psyched. As a huge KoRn kid this was the damn Bible for me. These guys look like they're havin so much fun doin' their thing, you just wish you could have been there to see it all happen.

Of course there's the inclusion of a few great early videos from the band, but I found myself enjoying the behind the scenes footage much more. There's no pretension, no arrogance, just straight up goofy behaviour from a bunch of fun dudes who (used to) write heavy-as-balls tunes.

You'll find yourself laughin your ass off one minute and bobbing your head the next. Over and over. The editing is phenomenal. Keeps you glued to the screen till the last frame. An essential for anyone who's ever had a fleeting interest in the band. The early days were surely the best. Who's left now? 3 of the original 5? It's hard to look these days.

Even if you don't like Heavy Rock n Roll, these guys are entertaining to the max!! GO KORN! Not only does this video let you know whom they are as people...their videos ROCK! Shot in a 5 year life span of the band, it's more than a rock DVD....it's a look at life as a new breed Rock n Roll band. Unlike a concert DVD, this DVD has all the makings of a classic video game/concert/documentary/music videos The bonus features on this DVD are off the wall with uncut sequences that depict all the band member's lives and backgrounds. If you love music, good DVD extras, or just hog wild for fun....than KORN is for you. You will need some passwords as this DVD has them to view ALL scenes. On the first segment you will need to input the following: up-down-left-right up-bottom-center right arrow Next segment: you need to spell: asylum This will unlock secret bonus features ENJOY!

Warning: Spoilers
Pretty good if your an angst driven teen looking for five or so guys to emulate in your basement, while praying to your rock posters that you age as fast as possible so you can guzzle COORS LIGHT. I mean were these guys paid by COORS to drink it all the time? What can i say i was young once too. But when i was young i drank the hard stuff, Private Stock, that snake venom can wash your system like an oil change, and you still have a dollar fifty to buy a slice of pizza! I'm a sucker for a band doc, doesn't matter the band, ill watch. I remember when these guys broke out, during some stale shift in the mid nineties. There were plenty of strange rock bands coming up, and Korn, with their ADIDAS jumpsuits and long, triple extra large jean shorts were like something from another planet, well California to be exact. I just hate these guys now, when this came out i loved them, and would consider their stronger work ahead of them for sure. If you've ever eaten Taco Bell late night and thought "hmm i could really go for a chalupa right now" only to regret it 47 minutes later, that about sums up this movie. Besides a couple of seconds of them playing their third show or something, i didn't find this all that ground-breaking or interesting. Their name is korn okay, KORN. Who cares, it's not like their called PANDA WEDDING MASSACRE, their called KORN and the explanations of their name are scant and pretty boring. Now lets move to Fieldy. This guy i can stand for about ten seconds as he's either drinking a COORS right close to the camera or he's crying to korn lyrics...Yeah could have done without that moment. Needless to say he's the softie of the group, then we get a taste of the sicko recording this rubbish, talking the singer through some old memories. Boring, boring, blah ditty dah dah day. No integrity, not enough Full live footage and too much kicking around the house. It's like home movies some dumb neighbors made that AREN'T funny. They all play it up for the camera and i can't help but think their music would be longer appreciated if they weren't so lame with the presentation. But, they've got issues. Their lame, boring, stupid, all in the wrong way. It's not HA HA funny, it's pretty bland. Now the singer makes porn and one of the guitar players has found Jesus, good for him though since he was snorting POUNDS of crystal meth, i mean when you get to doing that much meth you would probably worship anything that wasn't nailed down to a cross, oh wait a minute! So this is strictly a fan movie. You probably won't get even close to a good time watching it if your not some die hard who still listens to their first album. Lame, two stars.

Korn-U-Kopia!!!!

So it may be the typical band home video, but it's a must for any Korn fans out there.

We have the videos for Blind, Shots & Ladders, Clown and Faget for starters, Clown being a quality video, and Blind still the standout track of their career. We also have them rehearsing/recording tracks from Life is Peachy (Good God and Wicked-complete with Chino Moreno-being most obvious), and a few other tracks speckled through to keep the interest.

Also, there is a lot of footage of the band spends just hanging around the studio, quite often drunk (Fieldy staggering up to the camera is one image that I'll never forget), as well as celebrating Head's birthday, which leads to the recording of Lowrider.

An interview with Ross Robinson-as opposed to the band trying to avoid giving one, numerous theories to the origin of the name, footage from their third gig ever fill out the 42 minutes.

Until the next home video comes out, as good a document to the workings of the Bakersfield 5-piece as you could get.

Who Then Now is the KoRn Documentary video. It has music videos. Studio Footage and other cool KRAP! KoRn fans will enjoy. I know I did. It's awsome! It's McG's best work. Probably his only good work since KoRn's Got The Life.

Yay...

This video made me a Korn fan again. It's kind of dumb at some parts, but its also quite interesting, except if you don't like the band. And because its old, its sort of refreshing to watch now that Korn has kind of lost their magic (for me at least). And, on a completely shallow note, Munky is damned attractive and I'm surprised I didn't notice that sooner.

Buy, borrow it, rent it...STEAL IT

Ever want to know anything about KoRn then heres the video. This very entertaining 40 or so minutes shows the boys hangin out gettin drunk and basically just being themselves. No detail is spared as it tell you where they grew up how they met and the name origins. My favorite is the rehersal footage for Life is Peachy which couldn't possibly get much more raw. Also there are the 4 videos from the first album.

10 thumbs up for this most excellent Rock-Doc.

(By the way if you saw Much Music's Korn Egos and Icons don't bother watching this. Its just the same thing only less.)
