Angels are a essential part of many religious doctrines from the church of satan to mainstream chrisitan faiths to other peoples and religions. islam has angels mentioned in their sacred texts and the existence of a villian known as satan. Satan a angel in many myths according to various beliefs must be chased away every few hundred years when he comes to impersonate the deity of a religion. Any religion. Various beliefs have procedures for doing this. You would think after the COUNTER CULTURE disaster of the 1960's people would stop seeking these beings. In the 1960's fringe groups tied to crime and the occult became interested in angel sex, the root cause of sodom and gommorah and other things. Angels became popular so did the belief in those who fell with lucifer. In film trades these beliefs turned deadly. Some believe the massive monuments and designs in central and south america which can be seen only by air were made in refrence to fallen angel worship. This show deals with a sanitized history of this belief (it was produced for a family audience). Made on the eve of the release of TOUCHED BY A ANGEL, this show was diplomatic and journalistic in approach to it's subject matter. I would like to see a deeper probe into these myths. Are angels the explanation ofr the UFO phenomenom or is there more to this belief? Myth to some, truth to beleivers. The bible warns not to seek after them. Yet, academics is something one never be afraid of seeking after. Released at the height of a revival of "angel seeking/seeing" folklore and myth in the right wing. The show found good ratings.
