Warning: Spoilers
film opens with wide scale flood scenes of Brahamputra river, the river which starts in china and travels through India and empties in BAY of Bengal. Joy Mukherjee gets separated from his parents (played by Achla Sachdev and Nazir Husain) because of floods.

25 years later he is in Calcutta looking for a place to live.he finds out an old couple is letting out a room at very low rates ,only to couples.he accidentally meets Rajshree she also is in search of a room.she agrees to play his wife for the sake of getting the room.

both move in ,Joy Mukherjee not knowing that the old couple are his own parents.the couple on other hand consider them as their own son and daughter.then the old couple comes to know that Rajshri is their best friends daughter.they being childless takes her as their own daughter.

Jeevan murders his own brother at the same time Rajshri enters who is seeking a job.Jeevan creates such situations and take such photographs that she is proved a murderer.then he blackmails her trying to get money out of the benevolent old couple.see the film for the climax.

music is by Kalyanji Anandji which is just average .comic relief is provided by Rajinder Nath and Shyama.story and script are good.last scenes are climax is well done.Joy Mukherjee is cute and fresh.Rajshree is beautiful.both acted well.it has some old world charm around it when things were simple and uncluttered.
