Storyline

Four boys and one girl from the country establish an instrumental group with a lead singer - two guitars, ionic, percussion instruments and the pop-singer Vanya. The pop group is hoping to make it to one of the big seaside hotels during the holiday season. Their dream is to stay at luxurious hotels, and to become famous. It seems as if they can succeed, but they have to compromise with themselves. First, they have to change their singer with the mediocre beauty. The director of the youth club where they are rehearsing agrees to lend them the amplifiers, but only if accompanied by a mediocre singer ii whom he is clearly interested. And this is when they have to make the first compromise - they part with Vanya. Once they arrive at seaside hotel, the 'protégé' they were looking up to, turns out to be a cheat and the boys have to make do with a small beer bar at the beach. On the 'road to fame' they encounter unexpected difficulties, their new, beautiful singer causes additional trouble. ... Written by Georgi Djulgerov <georgidjul1943@gmail.com>

My favorite Bulgarian movie
17 June 2006 | by (Bulgaria) – See all my reviews

I don't know how can you get a copy of this movie if you are foreigner but i assure you that this is not only one of the best Bulgarian movies ever, but also this film contains in my opinion one of the best endings i've ever seen. An ending that always manage to move me deeply. I'm not sure also if a foreigner or at least people from Western Europe and America will get it. It's a comedy but it's far from the Hollywood comedies nowadays because it's really funny and rarely relies on slapstick humor. And of course there much more... I don't know how the government allowed its release because in my opinion the movie manages to make fun of the authorities and all this guys from the orchestra are walking around with their long hair and they are playing The Beatles. There's even a nude scene, not very graphic of course. This movie was made 7 years before the fall of the Regime and in my opinion it's really about freedom and also shows what was like in our country in these times, shortly before my birth. That's when my mother and father were young and it's one of their favorite movies too. In fact they insisted that i watch it and i have watched it numerous times since then although i'm really not a fan of Bulgarian movies. It's truly one of my favorites. And of course the ending. I won't tell you anything although it's not that kind of ending but it's one of the best endings i've ever seen, competing only with "Before Sunset" when it comes to crying over a film, even though i'm not that kind of person. I even liked the music at the end even though i hate Bulgaria Estrada. My Favourite Bulgarian Movie.
