Yogi Bear and Boo Boo are awakened from hibernation and end up joining friends at the Jellystone Lodge. They try to save it from being torn down by preparing for a great Christmas celebration in the lodge. However, two Christmas-haters, a miserable hermit and the lodge owner's rotten son, plan to ruin the festivities. Written by
All is not well in Jellystone National Park. It is Christmas and it looks like the hotel on the property is going to be shut down by the owner because no one is showing up to the hotel for Christmas especially around the Holidays when it is important for people to show up. They do not show up because people are scared away by mysterious circumstances.
But Ranger Smith is having a much easier time because Yogi is in hibernation and will not be around for Christmas. But everyone in Jellystone otherwise is happy. Snagglepuss, Auggie Doggie and Doggie Daddy, and Huckleberry Hound are singing and having a good time in the spirit of the Holidays. Mr. Dingwell the hotel manager is worried as well about the impending fate of the hotel.
The hotel changes for good when Yogi Bear is awoken by loud Christmas music. This proves to be almost instant pain for Ranger Smith. But he livens up the down on it's luck hotel and Jellystone Park and proves to be a great ice skater and skier, so much so he becomes a ski instructor and he saves the owner of the hotel on a few occasions further impressing the owner.
But some mean cartoon characters still want to ruin Christmas. First Snively the prick nephew of the owner turns out to be a grinch himself as he tries to ruin Christmas himself. And then there is still the mysterious occurrence, which turns out is the work of Herman the Hermit a Christmas hater that no one knows about until this Christmas. But Yogi is also so tired because he is supposed to be hibernating.
Yogi is a nuisance to Ranger Smith, the hotel manager and the chef Otto, but in the Christmas spirit they all come together to save the hotel. Be sure to watch for a cameo appearance by Santa Claus in a small but very good part. I have to admit I love Yogi Bear and all of his friends and I have watched them all and almost every Hanna-Barbara cartoon since I was a little kid.
But in the end Yogi Bear has to sleep in the winter and finally he goes back to his cave with his pal Boo Boo and they rest up, but Yogi can sleep comfortably knowing he saved Christmas. Now many of you are probably wandering why my review is so good and all I can say is well. I am smarter than your average movie reviewer. And by the way Snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound, Auggie Doggie, Doggie Daddy and Ranger Smith are great singers.
