When you think of good games based on movies, this should come to mind.

(Please note this is the review on the SNES version of the game, not the Sega Genesis or the Game Boy Versions) Popular movies are coming out every month and some of them have such hype that games are made for them. Toy story had this kind of hype, because it was the first full-length computer animated feature to ever be seen in theatres. beforehand, companies like Pixar and Big Idea Productions were making short films with computer animations (the oldest dating back to 1986) Now, pixar had taken a big step and made Toy story. Now, With such a great movie, there needs to be a game, right?

The game follows the movie quite accurately, adding in a few extra features, like a race and a sub-conscious Battle between Woody and Buzz, and Woody going through a mode-7 3-d Maze looking for green alien men, saying "Hello?" every 10 seconds or so.

For a Platformer/Sidescroller, it actually looks really good. the 3-D backgrounds are candy to the eyes, the in-game voices are Clear, and the overall gameplay is fun. it's hard to beat, and there's no passwords or save files, so you start at the beginning every time you turn on the console, or get a game over (unless you have a continue, which you can earn after picking up 300 stars, and by the way, getting 46 to 49 stars in a level will replenish one hit point, and 50 stars will give you an extra woody....don't you feel dirty after hearing that?)

This is a game worth owning. it doesn't get too old, it looks like candy for the super Nintendo, and it's also hard to find. i have never seen a copy of this game in a pawn shop at all. i've rented it once, but never beat it. i've never seen past level 14.

8/10

It's not a repetitive game.OK, maybe it's a bit hard but not impossible...why the hell would you want to play easy games.Every level is different and that's what makes it so great.from platform levels, to racing levels and even a 3-d first-person level. The music and the graphics are loyal to the film.Only played the genesis/megadrive and game boy version. The gameboy version cuts some levels but it's still a pretty good game for the 8-bit gameboy.obviously the best version is the gens/md version and it's one of the best games on that platform (also the beginning of the end).

9 out of 10 (i don't give 10's except for s3k)
