Fat jokes galore...though very few laughs
planktonrules18 January 2024
When "Caught on the Bounce" begins, Joe and his family are going to see Aunt Tildy. Apparently they need money and are hoping Hildy will help them. Most of the film is set aboard a train bound for Hildy's with lot of fat jokes...most of which aren't particularly funny. However, later, Tildy herself as well as a bank robber board the train...and there's a $5000 reward for the robber. Can Joe be the hero and get the reward?

Before Joe Besser was the Stooge to replace Shemp after his death, Besser made a string of comedy shorts for Columbia...the home studio of the Stooges. In general, I've found Joe's solo films less awful than the ones he made with Moe and Larry...though "Caught on the Bounce" is a bit worse as it's just not funny.
