Office sex romp isn't bad

While this film isn't a direct parody of 9 TO 5, it has the same theme of office women contending with an overbearing boss. Naturally, they are having sex on the photocopier, dreaming of sex at their desks, and so on.

Not too bad for minimal plot, it has the filming style of the 'older' porn flicks, that didn't focus so much on extreme close-ups.

Decent X-rated spoof of 9 to 5

I watched this movie a couple of nights ago and found it to be a fairly decent spoof of the 80's comedy 9 to 5. Back in the day x-rated movies had some interesting plot lines and actors who could actually act. If you've seen the movie this is based on you can guess fairly easily which actress is imitating her counter part. Annette Haven, Lisa De Leeuw and Loni Sanders are the three main actresses in the film and all three perform their parts well. Veronica Hart has a small role also, which is my only complaint, she deserved a larger part. This was produced back when these types of films were shot on film and actually played in theaters. During the 70's and 80's it was not uncommon to see a line of patrons outside of a Pussycat Theater in Los Angeles to see an x-rated film. Those days are gone now, unfortunately.

Could have been better

Lisa Deleuw has Dolly Parton's part in this parody of 9 to 5, but she looks nothing like her. The show is padded with tons of slow motion and fantasy scenes. Veronica Hart's part is too small, but why do Deleuw and Paul Thomas, who has the Dabney Coleman role, only get one scene in the whole movie? Revenge is taken on Juliet Anderson and Herschel Savage instead. Overall it was a letdown with poorly focused sex scenes filmed too often in long shot. I must correct other reviewers and say Lisa Deleuw probably didn't die from HIV but has retired from porn.

Nice Porn Parody of 9 to 5

Porn has always made a practice of having porn parodies of successful movies. The idea of three women who are under the thumb of a rough boss, was just too rife with possibility to NOT make a porn parody of it. There is a story here. This was still before the direct to video gynecology lessons began hitting the video shelves, people were still wanting a story with their sex. Standing out is the late Lisa De Leeuw, always luscious and very missed. Worth checking out to see how things were just before the advent of video. And, oh yeah, the sex is great too.

Bad camera work.

A lot of professional & amateur reviewers like this. It's a decent movie for story & plot. But - there is very little vaginal sex shown. The beauty of golden age porn is the sex appeared real. In this movie, it's hard to see any.

I bought this thinking it was a classic without seeing it first because it has Annette Haven, Lisa Deleeuw, Juliet Anderson and Veronica Hart. These were some of my favorite stars of the period.

I'd like to know another movie with an A list cast with these legends of the genre in it.

The camera-work and lighting is excellent. The Sets are believable too and thou the plot is minimal, it's all played for laughs and the cast all seem to be enjoying themselves, especially Juliet Anderson,Ride 'em Cowgirl.

Citizen Kane it ain't but it's inoffensive and the female characters are in control, which seems to be a bit of a rarity these days.

A good movie for couples and the sex is... great!!!

Top actresses in well-crafted XXX feature

8 TO 4 has nothing in common with the thousands of so-called parodies cranked out today - it is a successful stand-alone comedy about the familiar tribulations of working for creepy bosses. I enjoyed if more than the famous hit movie 9 TO 5 on the subject.

Annette Haven is perfect as the central character, a hard-working secretary who has to put up with stereotypical horrible bosses Herschel Savage and Aunt Peg/Juliet Anderson. Only fault is that she is not accorded the amount of explicit sex footage her fans expect.

Lisa De Leeuw is much better than Dolly Parton, equipped with Southern accent and those huge natural breasts as the perennially late for work employee. Rounding out the star triumvirate is ditzy Loni Sanders, quite fun in an extended copy room sex scene threesome (with Jesse Adams and Chelsea Manchester).

En route to a satisfying, farcical conclusion wherein both Savage and Anderson receive their comeuppance, the film's highlight is a classic example of Jazz Porn, as Lisa and Loni have a lesbian session in a sauna, accompanied by fabulous ballads from his impulse! label LPs by John Coltrane. When they started to play I felt this was sacrilege, but the clearly unauthorized use of these recordings nevertheless magnifies the eroticism of this scene.

Extremely well-produced by the Lewis team, this is a good example of the standard level of quality achieved by the industry during the Porno Chic movie era, soon to plummet to the low video levels we've been stuck with ever since.
