I've seen many documentaries on Titanic and they've all been really good, but Titanic: Secrets Revealed is definitely one of the best ones I've seen. It features interviews with Titanic survivors and tells us about the people and the captains, etc. on board. Historians and Authors talk here too and we see real footage of the Titanic and much more too. As well as recommending this, I also recommend the movie, Titanic. It's a brilliant movie.

that Bernard Hill, who hosts this documentary played Captain EJ Smith in
James Cameron's Titanic? Anyway, this is a fantastic documentary that sets
out to prove what history and much speculation could not...that Captain EJ
Smith did everything in his power to slow the sinking of Titanic and to
keep
her passengers as safe as possible for as long as possible. The documentary
shows that Smith did the right thing by closing the water tight doors
(speculation had been that he should have left the doors open so that the
ship would have stayed horizontal until it sank, but that would have caused
a host of problems ).
For many years, Captain Smith has been made out to be the biggest screw-up
in maritime history. This documentary honors Smith's memory by showing hat
he was indeed, till the end, a competent sailor.
