. . . Wolf series to feature his adorable nephew, Bomb-Bomb. Of course, Loopy is not the first animated headliner to have nephews. Popeye led the way, with the initial quartet of such kin. Mick the Mouse tried to horn in on Popeye's parade with a herd of his own shirt-tail relatives, often referred to as "orphans." Soon Goof the Mutt had Pluto, and the despicable Don the Duck spun off Huey, Dewey and Louie--three of the ugliest ducklings ever. Jerry the Mouse plagued his Tom Cat with a nephew, and The Inspector had his Spanish sister-in-law's son, Sgt. Dodo, as his personal go-for. But few of these characters became beloved American icons of Family Values to the extent that that young steer-toting rascal Bomb-Bomb has.
