And that's all she' s prepared to say. Boons asks Sam again what happened. He says he went outside and was alone for about five or ten minutes. He saw Nancy coming and going into the garage, but he hasn't seen her leave. Geens and Boons hold a reconstruction with the information they have from Nancy. They can't conclude if Nancy had anything to do with the murder or not. Geens tells Leo Mike was searching for the money himself, so he didn't have it. This surprises Leo. Maybe Femke took the money herself? Jenny thinks it might be possible, because she certainly had a bone to pick with him. Eric, Martine and Sam don't know what to do with Sofie's money. Neither of them wants it.

This startles Luc, but he doesn't say anything. Peter settles Sofie's inheritance and Eric, Martine and Sam want to give it to a rehabilitation center. Marianne gives Eric and Martine a secondhand car. They're delighted. Geens and Boons think Sam has something to do with the murder and put Femke and Sam in one room. Nothing happens. Geens asks Peter if he was 5 or 10 minutes alone at the time Mike was murdered. It's crucial, because he has a strong motive for killing Mike. Peter suddenly remembers he has an alibi. His secretary phoned him at that time and he did some business over the phone. His secretary confirms this, but Geens thinks it's all a bit too convenient this sudden alibi. Geens puts Martine under pressure and tells her he thinks she might have killed Mike, because she also had a strong motive and there was someone who saw her with the knife. Martine can't imagine who saw her with a knife. Boons questions Eric, because his alibi is also feeble, but he sticks to it. He was sick and went to the toilet to throw up. Geens and Boons don't trust Eric or Martine, but without evidence they can't hold them. Peter's alibi checks out, so he's released. At home Martine tells Eric she put the knife in the dishwasher. She thought she helped Nancy and Femke that way. Simonne and Frank are thinking about taking over Leo's business, but when Luc sees Leo wants to sell his business, he also wants to talk to Leo. Leo doesn't want to sell to Frank, but is interested in Luc's offer.

She likes it, but when he suddenly stands before the door, she doesn't want to let him in.

Geens and Boons see on the list of Femke's visitors Luc's name. Geens already knows he's very shady and wants to screen him. Leo starts to have doubts about Luc after what Jenny and Frank claim to know about him. And when Boons comes to collect Luc for questioning, he has even more doubts. Luc tells Geens, Femke is just a good friend and he helped her in the past on a professional level. Geens tells him the warder saw Femke telling Luc something and he got startled. Luc says he doesn't remember that situation. Geens thinks Femke knows he's the murderer, but keeps quiet because of their friendship. In the mean time at Ter Smissen they speculate Luc probably stole the money from Mike to buy Leo's firm. Leo really doesn't trust it anymore and he goes to the police. Geens now has an extra reason for not trusting Luc and wants to search his room at Ter Smissen and Sanitechniek for the money. Katrien finds a package for Paulien on their doorstep. Paulien doesn't seem interested. Ann thinks Peggy's idea of outdoor-climbing is great and asks her to make a business plan. Geens tells Luc they will search everything for the stolen money and they suspect him of the murder too. Luc tells them again he knows nothing on either subject. Geens is totally convinced Luc did it, because he had the time and he's cool and calculated enough to pull it off. When Mo, Waldek and Kris see the police doing a search at Sanitechniek, they are also convinced Luc has something to do with it all and they think he won't come back to work. Kris offers she will do the administration from now on. Boons tells Nancy and Eddy Luc is accused of stealing and killing Mike. They're very surprised. Nancy visits Femke in prison and tells her she doesn't need to protect Luc any longer, because he has been arrested. Femke tells Nancy Luc is not the killer. Marianne doesn't feel very well, but she thinks she's just a bit tired from all the excitement lately. Geert is worried and wants her to do a check-up, but Marianne is stubborn and doesn't want it. Later that day she seems fine again. Katrien and Tim think Paulien is not interested in the gift from Jens. She tells them she's not interested in Jens, but she is interested in his gift. It's a snowball. Katrien and Tim find it very corny. Then Jens knocks on the door. He's back from Austria with his arm in a sling. They put on the new CD he brought and during dancing he falls from the table and hurts his other arm.

Although Luc doesn't have an alibi he keeps telling Geens he has nothing to do with the missing money or Mike's murder. Geens doesn't believe him and is convinced he's got the murderer. And although the police can't find the money anywhere, to Luc's frustration they keep him detained. Femke tells Nancy again, Luc didn't murder Mike, but doesn't want to say who did kill him. Nancy starts to believe Martine killed Mike. Martine tells Eric she's worried she might shoot her mouth off to the police about of the knife she made disappear. Dorien is scared for her exams, because lately she didn't study much because of all the tension. Sam phones Jonas to help Dorien. Jonas talks to her teachers and they are prepared to postpone her exams. Dorien is relieved. She tells Jonas what happened at the coffee-table at Sofie's remembrance. Martine noticed a knife missing from the table. She went to the kitchen, but she never came back with one. Dorien is afraid Martine might have something to do with the murder. Julia notices a strange CD in her player. She suspects it's Tim's. Jens now also has his other arm in plaster after his escapades from yesterday. Paulien comforts him.
Mon, Jan 19, 2009
Martine is angry with Nancy for accusing her of murder. Because Femke told her Luc didn't do it and Martine made the knife disappear, she has to be the one who killed Mike. Martine says she tried to help Nancy and Femke that way, because she thought one of them killed Mike. Nancy now has doubts about Martine. Dorien tells Jonas Martine might have something to do with Mike's murder, but she doesn't dare to talk about it with Sam. Jonas lies his hands on hers to comfort her and when Sam suddenly comes in, he moves his hands away very quickly. Sam sees this. After Jonas has gone he says he understands why Dorien is losing interest in him. After their wedding there have only been problems. She says it's not true, but she feels powerless to help him. Then she tells him what she told Jonas. The police still don't have any evidence against Luc. They can't find the money and his computer is clean, but Geens is not prepared to let him go. Leo is glad Luc is still locked up, because he's convinced he has his money. It's just a matter of time before he has it back. Eric is not interested in the investigation. He says whoever did it, doesn't need to be arrested. Justice has been done to Mike and that's what matters. Geert is slowly moving in with Marianne. He brings a big abstract painting with him, which he hangs in the living room. Marianne and Ann will need time to get used to it.
Tue, Jan 20, 2009
Geens questions Femke again and now he really starts to put pressure on her. He tells her Luc used her for his own gain by stealing the money and that is why Mike tried to strangle her. So she shouldn't pity him and just say he killed Mike, or she will go down for murder. Femke also wants Luc to go to jail, because he's worth it, but he didn't kill Mike. In the end Femke can't take the pressure anymore and collapses. Luc is released, because they can't hold him any longer without any evidence. When he's at Ter Smissen, they're all very surprised to see him free again. Leo demands he tells where his money is. Luc cunningly convinces everyone he doesn't have it and he has no idea where it might be. Sam is stunned when Dorien tells him about Martine, but he's more disappointed she told Jonas first and didn't seem to want to tell him. She didn't tell him, because she knew he couldn't take anymore strain. They decide not to tell anyone else. Boons tells Nancy and Eddy what happened during Femke's interrogation and that she's at the prison hospital. Nancy doesn't want any more strain for her daughter and tells Boons about Martine. She's the one who killed Mike. Ann wants to go to the Ardennes with Peggy to look at places suitable for outdoor climbing. And she would like to make a day of it. Peggy would love it.
