Roll over, Tennessee Williams
lor_4 February 2015
With young Tish Ambrose improbably cast as Blanche DuBone, STREETSTAR is a failed XXX riff on the classic Tennessee Williams play. Pornographers aimed higher in olden times for their satires, but this one fails as miserably as today's THIS AIN"T...XXX crap.

Needlessly contrived storyline has Tish and Susie Nero as sisters, with heavy Frank Serrone (he of the flat line readings) seen humping Susie in the kitchen to get the porn content rolling. Home setting is strictly of the kitchen sink variety, with extremely poor sound recording for the improvised dialog.

Sue & Tish are loving sisters, as evidenced by an incestuous sex scene of them in bed together. Tish seduces delivery boy Tommy (Terry Baldwin), and there's an endless flashback sequence in which Dick Howard as a bartender confusingly looks like Terry. We see Tish originally meeting Serrone in a nightclub where she sings, very poorly, "These Foolish Things" on Christmas Eve. She's billed as Queen of the Bayous.

Serrone in flashback has sex with two girls, but Tish finds him and gets mad -and they end up in jail on Christmas Day.

This dumb flashback supposedly sets up a back story between Serrone & Tish, but emerges as filler. Back to the sex department, present-day Serrone humps Tish on the couch. Extremely cruel (and stupid) ending has their dialog exchange as follows: "See you soon," "But the night is still young," "But you're not, Blanche".

Pretty awful, especially since I calculate that Tish was in her early 20s when she made this garbage. I'm surprised this junker wasn't assigned to the Amero Bros., who could have usefully cast a female impersonator as Blanche. But under porno rules on XXX content, in mainstream crap: lesbo si, homo no.
