Don and Darlene set up a screen and lights and make different shadows. Richard Bradshaw uses his shadow puppets to illustrate the story "Mouse, Hippopotamus and Ostrich". The toys act out a shadow play called "The Sad Adventures of Humpty Dumpty".

Alister is dressed as a life saver. Benita looks at the different style swimming caps that life savers wear. They look at the calendar. Alister patrols the water and has to rescue Big Ted who seems to have a 'touch of cramps' while swimming. Alister changes his life saver cap for the marching life saver cap and the presenters march with Little Ted. Through the square window thee are surf boat races. Benita paints the sea with a sponge on newspaper. She adds a boat and then sings 'The Big Ship Sails on the Alley Alley Oh', using the lyric 'sunk to the bottom of the sea' while painting over the boat. It is seven o'clock on the flower clock with a boat underneath. Alister reads 'The Sailor' by Dick Bruna. Benita is dressed as a sailor and sings the song of the week 'Messing About on the River'. The presenters sail a yacht with Big Ted and wear life jackets, while singing 'What shall we do with the drunken sailor (sea-sick teddy)?'.

Aka 65.3 ep#173 Benita and Alister sing 'Once I caught a fish alive'. They look at Bit and Bot in the aquarium. Benita sings the song of the week 'Messing about on the river'. Alister fishes in a tank for a yabby. Instead of singing 'Pussycat, pussycat where have you been?', the presenters sing 'Yabby oh yabby, where have you been?'. Then they sing 'A yabby would a wooing go'. It is twelve o'clock on the clock with an old fashioned car underneath. Benita reads 'Tisi and the Yabby' by Geoffrey Dutton and photographed by Dean Hay. Alister sings 'Three Little Fishies'. Benita uses a spray bottle to spatter paint some leaves. Alister draws faces on the spaces left by the leaves, turning them into fish. They sing 'All the fish are swimming in the water'. Through the square windows, some bears are hunting for fish in a river.

Aka 65.4 ep#174 Benita and Alister pour water into a dark tray for a guessing game. They look at the calendar and sing the song of the week. Humpty, Jemima, Hamble and Little Ted are used to sing 'On the Bridge of Avignon'. Benita plays the guessing game by showing the reflection of wooden toys in the water tray: a horse, boat, bridge and swan. It is eight o'clock on the flower clock with paint tins and brushes underneath. Alister uses paper, paint and water to tell a story about blobs and lines. Benita mimes making blobs and lines with her arms and legs, changing according to the music. Alister joins in. Through the round window children are doing paintings at their school. Alister mimes scratching, eating and piano playing. Benita does the finger play 'Where is Thumbkin?'.

Alister forgets the words to the song, and is humming, so they sing the song again with Alister humming. Benita explains how a river forms. Alister experiments with freshwater and salt water to make an egg float. It is half past one on the flower clock, with a mother duck and three ducklings underneath. Benita reads the book 'The Big River' by Elizabeth Rose and illustrated by Gerald Rose. Alister makes rain sounds by tapping his fingers on a block. Benita sings 'Eency Weency Spider'. Through the arched window there are water fountains. Alister makes a water fountain with a squirty detergent bottle. The presenters sing 'Ha Ha Thisaway' with humming, singing, whistling, crying and laughing.

Darlene builds a town in the sandpit and the film is of children playing on the beach. Ken has made a train for the toys and he drives them to the beach.
