Resurgence of the traditional culture
zzmale6 April 2004
The literal translation of the title of this movie is: The love of motherland.

This movie made in the early era of the reform in China is an unique piece in that in contrast to most of the movies of its time, it praised the virtue of the traditional culture instead of criticizing the dross in the traditional culture, a topic that is very common among Chinese movies at the time (and to a large degree, this topic is still very common in Chinese movies today). The movie is based on the novel with the same title, which was also turned into a radio show, but none of them enjoyed the success like those productions from ancient novels.
