Why, back in my day, they had a thing called gameshows!
vertigo_144 February 2005
Nickelodean had some primo gameshows in its days, though clearly, not all took place on a sound stage with fancy lighting, music, scoreboards, or even obstacles. 'Wild & Crazy Kids' was probably as fun as it was to watch as it was actually participating. It was real 'reality TV' because kids were allowed to be themselves and just have fun competing in some gnarly events.

The show, for the most part (outside of those who were guests hosts or hosted strictly for the pilot), had three charismatic hosts: Don Jefcoat, Annette Chavez, and my favorite, Omar Gooding. Then, they'd get about twenty or thirty kids who would all wear those fluorescent colored 'Wild & Crazy Kids' that represented their team colors, and they'd all just go nuts in the numerous competitions that they came up with. I don't remember many of them, except a relay race involving skateboarding in a mall. Sometimes they'd have celebrity guests like Luke Edwards or Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

This show had all the cool things young kids could do if Don, Annette, and Omar hosted an after school program. Best of all, it was a lot of fun because none of the people (especially the competing kids) were phonies! They were just regular kids having fun. It was a cheap show for Nickelodeon to produce, and a rather short-lived one at that.

Fun game show
Catherine_Grace_Zeh16 July 2006
I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. First off, I must say that it was a fun game show. Also, I don't think I've seen every episode. However, if you ask me, it was still a good show. I remember the theme song pretty well, too. Even so, it was fun to play along and watch. I hope some network brings it back so I can play along and watch again. If that happens, I will be really happy. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I haven't seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.

Wild and Crazy Fun
hellraiser713 February 2017
One of the things I always liked about Nickalodon as a kid were the game shows, they always had the most creative and interactive game shows I've ever seen, even as an adult I still would love to play those games.

This is my fifth favorite game show and it's also another one of my childhood gems. This was a game show that was really unique because this was one that didn't take place on any closed set but actually outdoors which is cool and was something unique for it's time.

The teams didn't actually win any prizes (or none I knew about) but it didn't matter because the purpose of this game show was to simply have fun and that what were here for. In a way the whole show was sort of like the games you would play on a outing in the park but taken up to eleven.

The hosts were fun Donnie Jeffcoat and Omar Gooding whom of course is Cuba Gooding Jr's bro. Both including the girl (forgot her name sorry) had charisma and really looked like they were having a good time doing the show, even they got to engage in the games a bit themselves which is cool seeing host participate which I don't see much. And the music is great this has a really cool rockin theme which is another of my favorite themes.

Each of the episode took place in a different outdoor setting and each of the events were something different you never really knew what the next one was which made the game all the more interesting because it gave it a sense of unpredictability.

What made the games unique are that they had a sort of homemade quality to them, their the kind of games that you would make up at the playground or backyard. And to me I think that's great in a way the show sort of promotes creativity, that anyone can make fun games themselves. As well as outdoor play, the importance and joy of going outside to play under the sun and breath the air.

Also this show is one of the ones that had the most games in each episode which is really cool because I love variety, this also made the show even more unique because in most closed set game shows they can only hold so much variety and it's most of the time the same game over and over again which makes the game show a bit redundant (weard to say since most usually are). Here there is no redundancy from the constant changing variety of each of the events on every episode.

And a lot of the games are memorable there are too many to describe so I'll just say a few favorites of mine, like the live action "Space Invaders" game which was cool and was just as nerve racking as the original video game. Despite how slow the people move there are so many of them and each of the formations move in different patterns which make them targets not so easy to hit. It's always fun just seeing the contestants nail the targets with giant water balloons, I always love water balloon fights.

Another is an R.C. car race, really love the design of the track however what made this one unique is that there are hidden explosives (small ones of course) on the course. This really added a risk factor to R.C. racing because it's a matter of not just getting ahead of the other car but how fast or slow you should go, as long as you don't cross paths with the explosive.

And finally there is the roller coaster ride, where the contestants have these Big Gulp sized up to hold while they ride the roller coaster. The catch is that they can't let too much of the colored liquid to spill out, if the level is too low or it splashes out the contestant loses. I'll admit that would be hard to do considering the physics of the ride, though it was always fun just seeing the contestants getting splashed by the liquid.

Wild and Crazy Kids is Wild and Crazy fun.

great show

Warning: Spoilers
a great concept for a kids' show...not to mention you never knew when a star would stop by. most of the shows i can remember were the first ones, as the airtime switched soon after the show's debut...best memory of this series was the dizzy bat baseball game on one of the very first shows with little league players vs their coaches. the players were pitched to by pro scott bailes, while their coaches had to spin with their head on the bat seven times and hit a ball off the tee...this game was won when he last coach who was wearing wingtip shoes hit a bomb over the fence to win the game for the coaches as time expired...i also recall the track and field competition hosted by omar where you had to throw a ball and long jump backwards...the slam dunk competition where a gymnastics pit and springboard were set up under the basket...some of the other games i liked were when they had to keep dessert treats together while riding down a waterslide...the contest in the mall hosted by annette was also fun to watch...chug root beer, eat pie, run a race on the power pad, skateboard through the mall to the finish line...the florescent tee shirts were another bonus...i always wanted to get a green or peach one...a great show overall 10 out of 10....

A fun game show
NickSchedules8 January 2024
This is a game show revolving on kids participating in head-to-head physical challenges, such as take-offs on playground games, sports with unusual rules added, or messy games involving pies and slime (staying true to Nickelodeon's nature). It was hosted by two teen boys and a teen girl. The boys were Omar Gooding and Donnie Jeffcoat. The show had two separate female hosts. Annette Chavez was only in season 1, before being replaced by Jessica Gaynes for the next couple seasons. While not the most popular (or easily accessible, as you'll have watch all episodes on Dailymotion) game show for the network, I discovered the show a couple years back and I can say I had a lot of fun watching it. It's basically kids being kids. I bet people who didn't had a great childhood would have a blast watching this show. The challenges live up to the Wild and crazy in its title. The hosts had a great presentation. Though I personally preferred Annette over Jessica. I do not know why, but Annette's a tad snarkier than Jessica from what I remembered. I wonder if she left due to creative differences? I still like seasons 2 & 3 just fine, though. Unlike other game shows, it doesn't end with the winner being rewarded with money. It may be a game show, but it felt more about having fun than answering questions. The show may have ended in 1992, but what's impressive is the show continued in reruns for nearly 10 years. It remained on NickGAS for a while, but it briefly came back for a short lived revival in 2002, which only lasted 10 episodes.

Like every kid in my generation I really wanted to be in this show. This show was about putting kids in wild and crazy contests. There was a blue and red team. I really wanted to be in the blue team. It sucks that Nickelodeon doesn't air this show anymore.

I used to watch this show as a little kid and I never missed an episode. I always wanted to be on this show and I thought it was totally cool. I can remember one time they went to a roller coaster and had to hold a cup full of died water and see who had the most at the end it was a really cool show.

Fun for kids

I loved this show as a young child, I always wanted to be on it. This show takes kids and takes them into crazy contests, such as racing on beds with wheels. This show rarely failed to entertain me. It also starred Cuba Gooding Jr's brother Omar Gooding as one of the hosts. BRING BACK WILD AND CRAZY KIDS!
