Good-'ole Aussie Romantic Comedy and a MUST for the Country and Western Fans
Em-212 January 1999
This film is your typical-Australian-Romantic-Comedy-Happy-Go-Lucky-Give-You-A-Nice-Feeling type of film! It is easy to watch, with lovable characters and some pretty good acting. The plot is simple to follow, and I suppose somewhat predictable but that is not really a bad thing for this type of film! Jason Donovan is excellently cast and proves himself once again as a big-screen actor and singer. His vocal talents are shown to be very natural, a total contrast to some of his earlier "pop" records. There is a good mix of Aussie-Country music which is easy to listen to and fun. A must for anyone who likes the Country-and-Western Scene.

really good film

i enjoyed this film immensely, yes it was a bit slow in places but it wasn't any slower than other Australian films i've seen. donovan was great in it, and gave it the romantic element it was supposed to have. Milkin was brilliant and had a great chemistry with donovan. The best part for me was the singing and duets the music was excellent and what prompted me to find out about the soundtrack. Some critics would regard the story as cheesy but i found it a typical feel good movie with an excellent musical content. i am not sure whether it was actually Angie Milikin singing on the original soundtrack but who evers voice it was in the film they were brilliant.

Surprisingly good.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. I'm Not a Donovan fan, so I certainly didn't start watching with high expectations. It was light-hearted and sweet, with many a funny moment. Peter Phelps was excellent as the likeable larrikin. If you want a deep plot, then this isn't the movie but it's easy to get into and leaves your heart light in the end.

A Feast for Jason Donovan Fans!

Jason stars in this light movie. No war flick here; it's a light-hearted, cute comedy. He sings, but not Stock, Aitken & Waterman - he sings country! It's fun, though, and Jason is particularly appealing. It's definitely a film Jason Donovan fans will want to see!
