As a big fan of Australian cinema, I was mortified at this woeful romantic comedy: it lacked any sort of feel-good quality, the story was irrelevant and was frequently padded with bad Donovan-Milliken duets and it was generally just a struggle to get through. It could easily be retitled THE JASON DONOVAN SHOW - unfortunately NEIGHBOURS' leading man has not done anything of note since the turn of the decade (apart from THE LAST BULLET, which was very well written). [Apparently the guy even had the clout to suggest to Kylie Minogue that she might like to appear opposite him in a TV series, rekindling their famous on-screen romance...no prize for guessing her answer!] Angie Milliken, an actress for whom I usually have great respect, was wooden and awkward as an ex-country/western singer now married to a city lawyer. Admittedly, the film got marginally better as the plot developed, but I could still only find it in me to give it 39/100.
