Sex & Nudity

  • While there is no full frontal nudity nor graphically explicit sex depicted in this series, sex is a major theme. There are mentions of, and allusions to, sexual activity, and some scenes strongly imply sex. Characters are often shown in bed together.
  • One of the main male characters has a tendency to sleepwalk nude. He's played by Michael Palin, and his buttocks are visible on at least one occasion.

Violence & Gore

  • There are some scenes of violence, such as people being physically assaulted by gangs of thugs. There is no gun violence at all.
  • A major plot point is one child assaulting another (non sexually). I can't say too much about this without spoiling the story, but be aware that it's there.

Profanity

  • There is some profanity, although it's not particularly a theme of the show. But the f word is used on a couple of occasions, along with other words you might not want your children to hear.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Characters are regularly depicted smoking and drinking alcohol. Use of illegal drugs is not depicted.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are some scenes that may alarm younger children - for example, in one case a school for children with special needs is attacked by thugs. There are no supernatural elements or monsters or anything like that, but we do see scenes where people mistreat each other.
