Saved by Monique Gabrielle's nude scene in front of the mirror n the shapely Madison Stone's strip dance.
Fella_shibby27 March 2020
I first saw this in the early 90s on a vhs. Revisited it recently to have a glimpse of the beautiful buxom Monique Gabrielle. Her busty tits made a lasting impression on my young teen mind then. To be honest, this film doesn't have a single scary scene or any good kill, it's not even comedic at all except for Dick Miller's scene where he keeps on saying boy o boy... And I don't kno why the character of David Carradine kept on flicking his cloak. The film is about a cartoon monster which comes out alive a la Cellar Dweller n terrorizes hot babes in a haunted mansion. Of course, it shouldn't be taken seriously.

Watch out for Monique Gabrielle's nude scene in front of the mirror n the shapely Madison Stone's strip dance. As a gym trainer, I am really impressed with Madison's shapely body, especially her glutes.

Saved by the Boobs

Hey look, it's sleazeball writer/director Fred Olen Ray trying to bring us a horror parody! Unfortunately, for him, he didn't seem to realize his scenario is lacking two very important – I even daresay essential – components in order to accomplish this: the film is not funny, nor scary. Fortunately, for us, Fred Olen Ray can always safely rely on two other vital elements: the wittiness and charisma of genre veterans that inexplicably continue to collaborate with him (in this case David Carradine and Dick Miller) AND gratuitous nudity provided by voluptuous and professional adult film starlets. Presumably inspired by the contemporary revival of Looney Tunes and maybe even still the successful aftermath of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", "Evil Toons" is a passable low- budgeted early 90's flick that clearly didn't knew which target audience to address. Die-hard horror buffs won't be very pleased with the goofy animations and (youthful) cartoon freaks aren't likely to be exposed to such amounts of nudity. Dick Miller runs an illegal cleaning company and employs young college girls that are willing to make a quick extra buck. He drops them off at a spooky old mansion on Friday night and their assignment is to get the place cleaned up by Sunday, as the new tenants movie in after the weekend. The hot trio discovers an ancient book and dagger. Stupidly reading a passage from the book out loud revives a demonic cartoon figure that promptly possesses one of the chicks and goes on a murderous rampage. It might sound like an extremely shallow thing to say, but I will only remember "Evil Toons" for the copious amounts of T&A. The three leading ladies look ravishing and they do even more so when they're topless. Especially the supposedly shy girl (forgot her name) is a real jewel. She wears loose sweaters and barely any make- up, so it comes as a pleasant surprise when she exposes her impressive D-cup all of a sudden in front of the bathroom mirror. The rest of the film is pathetic and forgettable. The "evil" cartoon looks like a crossover between the Tasmanian Devil and Wile E. Coyote, yet without the charm of those legendary figures. Dick Miller has a couple of great one-liners, like when he's watching himself in "A Bucket of Blood", and David Carradine inarguably remains a cool dude, even though he has little else to do than stand around in a cloud of fog outside of the mansion.

Reasonably fun and entertaining if you don't expect too much.

Warning: Spoilers
This has a LOT in common with Jim Wynorski's SORORITY HOUSE MASSACRE II. They were filmed in the same house at around the same time (1990) and have the same basic plot about a handful of buxom, lingerie-clad babes trapped in an old house where one becomes possessed by an evil spirit and starts killing off the others. Both films are also filled with tongue-in-cheek humor and endless in-jokes that you can only appreciate if you've seen your fair share of exploitation / horror / trash movies as well as a weird next door neighbor who is always lurking around outside and appears to be stalking the girls. Oh yeah, and let's not forget a generous helping of T&A, as that's one of the chief reasons these movies were made in the first place. Wynorski's film is the better of the two because the dialogue is funnier and it somehow works as both a horror/slasher flick (with plenty of the expected bloodshed) as well as a send-up of such films, whereas this one is doesn't work at all as a horror film and is more straight-up camp comedy. Still, if you know what you're getting yourself into and are familiar with the director and cast, EVIL TOONS is a pleasant enough way to kill 83 minutes of your time.

The home where a sorcerer (David Carradine) hung himself because of an evil, talking book many years earlier is now being sold by Burt (Dick Miller), who's in need of a clean-up crew pronto before the new owners can move in. Enter Terry (Suzanne Ager), Megan (Monique Gabrielle), Roxanne (Madison Stone) and Jan (Barbara Dare), who apparently all work for some cleaning company but show up for work dressed like Hollywood Blvd hookers in cut-off Daisy Dukes and spandex. The girls are paid a whopping 100 dollars each to spend the weekend there and tidy the place up, but after some exploring around and an impromptu strip-tease, Carradine's character shows up at the front door to deliver a special package. Inside is the evil book and the nerdy Megan picks the wrong passage to translate; unleashing a wolf-like cartoon demon in the process. It promptly possesses Roxanne and she begins killing everyone off with eventual plans on releasing other demons from the book after she's harvested a few souls for Satan.

While this was heavily-promoted as a Roger Rabbit-style merging of cartoon and live action in a horror-comedy context, you'll be extremely disappointed if you expect too much. There are only two toon sequences in the film lasting just a few minutes apiece and only in one of them does the demon actually interact with one of the actors. The less said about the plot the better, but in lieu of that we get some spirited bad acting, lots of dumb jokes (only some of which are funny), a few semi- famous stars in small roles (Arte Johnson is also on hand as the pervert neighbor) and nude scenes provided by each of the female stars. Miller ends up with the most amusing bit and has a very funny scene watching himself in A BUCKET OF BLOOD on TV and then spurning the sexual advances of his sexpot wife ("Special Guest Star" Michelle Bauer), who then is forced to retreat to her bedroom alone with her chainsaw. If you know anything about Ray, you'll know just what film he's alluding to there.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the cast is hardcore porn actress Stone, who's extremely lively and animated in her role. Her over-the-top campy performance and bizarre Valley Girl dialogue delivery make for a welcome contrast next to the more wooden performances from many of her co-stars and it's actually kind of a shame she didn't end up in more R-rated B- movies. Gabrielle is not a great actress either but she's oddly endearing playing a shy / innocent character for a change (plus her 'mirror scene' is probably the most memorable moment in the entire film). All in all, this hits and misses about equally, but it's at least upbeat, fun and made in good spirits.

pornstarlet makes good...drunk monk does so-so...
prof_murder29 July 2001
I've read the various reviews of this flick and some of y'all just don't get it. Obviously, it's cheap and poorly made...so go with that and relax. It's a perfect throwback to 80's horror/comedy filmmaking. Sexist? Whatever. If you rented this one you wanted to see a few bimbos get naked and then get dead. You also wanted to see a "...Roger Rabbit" type horror film. So, you get the first and not really the last. Live with it. Madison Stone gives an award winning performance for a porn star and David "Kung-Fu" Carradine seems a little less drunk than he did in his mail order tai-chi how-to video. You also get cult star Dick Miller and Laugh-In nazi Arte Johnson...oh, how could I forget Monique Gabrielle, in her best topless scene since Bachelor Party?! Plot? Kinda'. Nudity? You betcha'. Cartoon monster? Long enough for this kid. Enjoy at your own risk....who cares what your friends think anyway.

Lame, Unfunny, Dull and Boring
claudio_carvalho21 January 2014
Burt (Dick Miller) has a cleaning company and hires four women to clean an isolated house. They find an old book, a dagger and a soul shred and when one of them, Megan (Monique Gabrielle), reads an incantation, she unleashes an evil beast in our world.

"Evil Toons" is a lame, unfunny, dull and boring exploitation with porn starlets. The plot is ridiculous and the storyline "four sexy young girls are to clean an old house for the new owners" is awful since the women are not "sexy young girls" and the house is not "old". Surprisingly David Carradine participates of this garbage. The worst is that I saw this movie many years ago but I did not recall how bad it is and I have just seen it again. My vote is one (awful).

Title (Brazil): "Magias do Mal" ("Magic of Evil")

Four semi-naked bimbos, plus bonus boobies from Bauer.
BA_Harrison27 November 2021
In Evil Toons, buxom scream queen Monique Gabrielle plays prim and proper virginal co-ed Megan, but don't worry, she still gets her tits out - this is a Fred Olen Ray film, after all.

Megan is one of four sexy girls hired by Burt (cult B-movie legend Dick Miller) to spruce up an old mansion ready for the new owners. While there, the four babes are approached by a strange man, Gideon Fisk (David Carradine), who gives them an old book, bound in something that looks suspiciously like human skin, and with a scary face on the cover; before you can say Necronomicon, the girls have read a passage from the book out loud and summoned an evil spirit that takes the form of a cartoon monster. The animated creature kills sexy brunette Roxanne (pornstar Madison Stone), assumes her form, and goes on the rampage.

As a horror movie, Evil Toons is seriously lame, but I reckon you knew that already, didn't you? It's not any better as a comedy. The film is little more than an excuse to get its sexy stars to flash their boobs and bums as often as possible while ripping off both 'The Evil Dead' and 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' in the process. Being very low budget, there's not much in the way of animation, and what there is is pretty bad. All four of the main 'actresses' get naked to some degree (two of them have worked extensively in the adult industry, so they aren't exactly the shy and retiring type); even scream queen Michelle Bauer, who appears as Burt's girlfriend, finds the time to flip out her norks during her brief cameo.

As in The Evil Dead, the malevolent monster is destroyed when Megan throws the book into a fire, but only after lots of puerile nonsense that proves extremely wearisome, even despite all of the T&A.

This movie is bad, doesn't have enough Carradine and all the gorgeous ladies in the world can't save it from itself
kevin_robbins30 December 2022
Evil Toons (1992) is a movie that I recently watched on Amazon Prime and came highly recommended from Edward Delgado. The storyline follows a group of young ladies hired to clean an old house. When they arrive they discover a book that resembles the necronomicon and they decide to read it unleashing cartoons out for blood. How can they stop cartoons and what are the the toons trying to unleash on Earth?

This movie is directed by Fred Olen Ray (Hatfields and McCoys: Bad Blood) and stars David Carradine (Kill Bill), Arte Johnson (Munchie), Dick Miller (The Terminator), Monique Gabrielle (Bachelor Party) and Barbara Dare (52 Pickup).

This is a very interesting movie. I will say it has a great cast, settings and butts. There's a ton of nudity in this picture and way less David Carradine than I expected. He was definitely under utilized. The cartoon dialogue was good and I enjoyed the use of the necronomicon. The situations and dialogue are awful. There's a scene where they literally say, "Let's kick some butt." There's some sequence that drag on way too long I found myself saying, "I need some cartoons or Carradine right now or I'm going to jump out a window." The ending was a bit rediculous but made sense based on the plot and the kills throughout are nothing special.

Overall, this movie is bad, doesn't have enough Carradine and all the gorgeous ladies in the world can't save it from itself. I would score this a 3.5/10 but still recommend seeing it once.

Great looking ladies but with zero acting talent
che-4726 April 2005
From the title you would be expecting cartoon characters but no you get only the one and he isn't on screen long and he is done very very poorly. The fact that there are some bouncy breasts and the ladies are great looking is the only reason to ever watch this film as i have seen better acting in primary school plays. This film is a prime example of an OK idea taken and turned into an hour and a half of pure viewing torture. The only good thing i have to say about this film is that there is a couple of funny moments and the odd sarcastic comment but not enough to save the film. Id steer clear of this one and rent "Who framed Rodger rabbit" instead.

evil toons
blaatman4 January 2007
let's begin with the good news, it has naked boobies. the bad news is that its kinda like terror toons but without the humor and great gore and so on.

of course a b-movie is just what it is. a b-movie. but evil toons is just missing to many elements of a good b-movie what makes it, well, just plain boring. would have been cooler if the toon would be visible as a toon throughout the whole movie. now you only get a glimpse for about 5 minutes. and a jackie chan movie would probably have more gore than this film. so if you see this movie in the store, just ignore it. it's really not worth it. not even for those who are into b-horror. only good to whipe you're butt with after a Mexican beans dinner. it does have naked boobies though =P.

Why Do These Things Always Have To Start With Young Beautiful Coeds Going Into The Basement ?
ShootingShark8 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Four women are staying the weekend in a spooky house they've been hired to clean, but before long one of them has been possessed by a demon unwittingly brought to life and embarks on a murderous rampage.

I really like this movie. It's cheap, it's stupid, it doesn't really make sense and it has a bunch of young women taking their tops off every five minutes. It does have some bad points too, but it's a lot of fun and that's what counts. Mostly I like it because of the cast; Gabrielle as the wide-eyed ingenue and Stone as the sexpot pixie toon demon vampiress are both wonderful and hilarious in equal measures. Stone really eats up the screen and has a deliciously naughty delivery, licking Gabrielle's blood and observing, "Tangy ! But not too tart ... "; I wish she'd made more movies. As well as that we have old pros Carradine and Miller, both playing it straight, bless their cotton socks, and cult favourite Bauer in a black teddy. The plot is some mumbo-jumbo about a haunted book, soul-shrouds and a cursed researcher of arcane arts called Gideon Fisk (great name), but is diverting enough to cover the film's charming budgetary limitations. There's also a great title sequence by Bret Mixon and a jaunty keyboard score by Chuck Cirino that keeps everything moving along, whilst the film keeps coming up with engagingly goofy scenes like the one where Stone tries to open the wine bottle. In the late eighties/early nineties there were a lot of these agreeable tongue-in-cheek no-budget horror comedies, well made by the likes of Ray, David DeCoteau and particularly Jim Wynorksi. This is one of Ray's best, but a lot of them are great fun, for example Bad Girls From Mars or Dinosaur Island. Flesh fans should note that both Stone and Nix are adult-movie stars; Nix (whose real name is Stacy Mitnick) under the screen-name Barbara Dare.

Four stars just for Barbara Dare and Madison
BandSAboutMovies21 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Fred Olen Ray has done a ton in his career. He was a still photographer on Shock Waves. He was a pro wrestler named Fabulous Freddie Valentine. He directed stuff like Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Armed Response and several movies with Eddie Deezen. And then he made this, a haunted house movie that combines animation, David Carradine and adult movie stars. Somehow, Becca watched this movie multiple times before she was through puberty.

Ray pitched this movie to Roger Corman and said he could do it for just $250,000. Corman said that the budget was too low and turned him down. Using equipment from another production and leftover film stock, Ray made this movie his own for just $140,000 dollars.

A group of teenage girls (played by scream queen Monique Gabrielle, Vivid Girl Barbara Dare who is billed as Stacey Nix, Suzanne Ager and adult star Madison Stone) have been hired to clean an old mansion, but soon a stranger delivers an old book. It's the very same book we see in the beginning before David Carradine hangs himself (seriously, this happens) while wearing the wig that he kept from the miniseries North and South.

Soon, a cartoon monster escapes from the book and begins eating the girls and killing everyone in the house. By the end, only the good girl and the owner of the book - David Carradine again - destroy it with fire. As he leaves, everyone comes back to life and Arte Johnson comes over with a TV that plays cartoons.

Dick Miller shows up as the boss of the girls and his wife is Michelle Bauer, another former adult star who ended up in a ton of movies as a scream queen, including Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama.

Evil Toons is pretty ridiculous. But it gives you all that it promises: a haunted house, plenty of nude girls and lots of blood. I guess if that's what you're looking for, it delivers.

I'LL GET YOU IN THE SEQUEL FOR THIS!
nogodnomasters15 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This has stood the test of a cult classic. This obscure horror film DVD quickly reached the $40.00 mark. They made a re-issue of it, and it too sailed up to that level. In that regard, this film rates up there with the original "Night of the Demons."

What separated this film from the pack was the cartoon "Taz" like demon with a sense of humor. He was smartly integrated into the film with an attack rape scene with porn star Madison Stone. This was the scene that made the film a cult classic as the demon's tongue licked her chest and caused her bra to come apart. I will take that scene to my perverted grave.

The cast includes David Carradine, Arte Johnson, and scream queen Michelle Bauer, in case 4 topless co-eds aren't enough for you. The other porn star in this film, Barbara Dare, plays a shy geeky girl. Monique Gabrielle was the Dec. 1982 "Pet of the Month." What was most amazing was the better than normal caliber acting from the porn stars. Plot summary: Girls clean house. Girls get ancient book. Girls accidentally summon a demon.

Now if you don't have the money to shell out to buy this film, do a Google search and you might find it free to watch on line. For me this is a must for any horror cult collection.

Cartoon wolflike demon stalks four girls in an old haunted mansion - if this doesn't get you interested then nothing will.
Wilbur-1014 January 2002
A bizarre 'B' movie offering from the evergreen Fred Olen Ray. Here we have a horror/tits n'ass movie, combining live action with animation, as seen in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' (1988).

The story has four girls employed as cleaners (!!) staying in a spooky old house for the weekend to tidy things up for the new owners. Three of them are good-time girls with 'big' hair and cut-off denim shorts - the foursome made up by the obligatory bespectacled square, played by soft-core porn actress Monique Gabrielle.

The film is low-brow to say the least, but its quite well-made with a reasonable dose of entertainment value. There are lots of breasts on display, particularly Monique's which are quite fantastic, and the film has a self-mocking tone which helps maintain the sense of fun - one girl asks - "Why do these things always have to start with young beautiful co-eds going into the basement?"

David Carradine tries to give the film a star name, but he wanders aimlessly around as some bloke from years ago who got involved with a cursed book, which the girls then find. This unleashes a sexually frustrated cartoon demon which proceeds to stalk the female flesh on display.

60's Corman stalwart Dick Miller puts in an appearance, and proceedings meander along until the script gives up the ghost. For 'B' movie fans 'Evil Toons' has a surprisingly lot to offer. Production values are good and everything gives the impression of having been made by people whose passion for their work is strong.

BEST SCENE - Roxanne's strip dance is good, but Megan's topless scene in front of the mirror is out of the top drawer.

Good premise, Awful film
Quicksand7 March 1999
What a perfect example of what makes a bad film bad.

Four women. Acting talent goes up in reverse proportion to how good looking they are. The premise sounds nifty, as we're expecting a cartoon to show up and have sex with women, but the filmmakers have no idea how to pull this off. The toon has under 120 seconds of screen time, and murders some women instead. I'm not interested in seeing that, I was enjoying the jiggle, thanks.

Really silly, but for my toon kicks, I'll go back to Jessica Rabbit, thanks.

So bad that it is good...
jimmyplm5 December 2000
I am not a huge fan of Fred Olan Ray's movies, but I find this one actually quite entertaining--in a warped way. The acting is horrifyingly bad. The special effects are not much to be desired. The plot is non-existent...Yet I am strangely fascinated every time I watch this little video. It isn't even because there are so many naked girls randomly running around. There's something weirdly exotic about seeing cartoon characters killing real life people. This movie is like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" meets "Slumber Party Massacre." This is a cult classic. B+

Brutal on all levels
doctorgonzo238 May 2005
There are so many things wrong with this movie, I'm not really sure where to start. There is little animation, the plot is a not so subtle rip off (the book is a very cheap replica of the Necronomicaon used in the Evil Dead movies), the acting is pure garbage and the ending is beyond stupid.

What the hell is the point of this movie? Sure, there's a good bit of nudity, but it just comes across as boring and tired. The girls are pretty, but their assets are wasted in this piece of trash. The effects are also pretty laughable.

I love B movies, don't get me wrong. But there's usually some sort of redeeming quality. This thing didn't even make me laugh.

Don't waste your time.

A Bimbo Comedy
Uriah4328 August 2015
This movie essentially begins with 4 young college women being hired to clean a house prior to it being put up on the real estate market. What they don't know until they get there is that the house has a reputation for being haunted. Undaunted the young ladies decide to continue on with their work even though they will have to spend the night in the process. That evening a man named "Gideon Fisk" (David Carradine) knocks on the door and delivers an ancient book to them which upon being read releases a cartoon demon intent on killing all of them. Now rather than reveal any more of this movie and risk spoiling it for those who haven't seen it I will just say that the concept of using animation probably came from the successful film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" which was produced 3 or 4 years earlier. No doubt the director, "Fred Olen Ray" figured that if he threw in some attractive women and used every opportunity to show their breasts that he could make some money from it. The end result is a "bimbo comedy" where acting is basically a side issue that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. The funny thing is that it almost worked thanks in great measure to the presence of "Monique Gabrielle" (as "Megan") and Barbara Dare ("Jan"). But as pretty as they were there was no way either of them could lift this movie any higher. No way. Slightly below average.

Kind of Blah as Far as Spoofy Horror Flicks Go
bkrauser-81-31106420 September 2016
Perhaps a more appropriate title for this AIP (American Independent Productions) cheapy would be Evil Toon. After all, for all its advertised zaniness, the movie really only has one cartoon villain which is really only seen a handful of times. Consequently, most of the film is populated by the familiar crop of has-beens and a lead foursome of ladies probably hand-picked from the sticky pages of Penthouse Magazine.

The setup is simple; a group of teenage girls are hired as a cleaning crew and are forced to spend the night in an old house with a bad reputation. While there, they unleash an evil spirit that manifests itself as an incredulous wolf cartoon. It promptly possesses, seduces, and slays the occupants of the house leaving only the conspicuously virginal Megan (Gabrielle) and a mysterious man named Gideon (Carradine) to solve the curse.

Giving a film of this caliber a terrible review would be like swatting flies with a sledgehammer. Director Fred Olen Ray has had a long and, to be honest, quite prolific career making micro-budget horror and sci-fi movies, as well as softcore T&A flicks for the golden-age of Skinamax. Shot with a budget of a mere $140,000, Evil Toons doesn't exactly have the bar set all that high.

Thus if one were to overlook the films various faults you may just find a patch of things worth recommending. The plot doesn't drudge along but rather bounces through all the familiar story beats i.e. beginning, middle and end. That may sound like a dig until you consider some horror movies today don't even accomplish this. Additionally the acting is what can be best described as pornstar bad. Our pod of hot coeds clearly have no prior knowledge of how to use a broom; let along the ability to ferret out their motivations within a scene based on the script. Yet there's something endearing about the entire process; think watching a middle school play only with gratuitous amounts of nudity. It can be fun, if and only if you decide to pre-game before the movie.

Otherwise you're looking at a light spoof on haunted houses that is both light on the horror and light on the laughs. Fred Olen Ray was rumored to have approached famed king of pop cinema Roger Corman about this script. Corman turned him down because the budget request was too low given the amount of special-effects needed. Ray shot it anyway, and made a tidy profit banking on the name recognition of the women; staples of Penthouse and Vivid Entertainment. Frankly I would have sprung for at least one bankable star. And no in 1992 that bankable star was not David Carradine.

What...The Hell.

Four Sexy Young Girls? Oh Please, For one thing the Porn is not even necessary, Who the heck wrote that in. For a second, None, and I mean none of those Woman could act, for a third, They got the Title Wrong, It should be Evil Toon (The Toons in the book don't count). The only guy who could really act was the manager, and unfortunately even he sucked. And the Icing on the Cake was that the animated Monster looked like crap. I'm sorry, but this Film IS the worst thing I have seen, go back to writing comic books or what ever the hell you used to do 'Fred'. (if you're even still alive).

How come this guy never won an Academy Award?
Hey_Sweden8 June 2017
Ever reliable Dick Miller plays Burt, owner / operator of a cleaning company. His four very sexy young female employees are dropped off at an old house that - and you can all say it with me now - HAS A DARK HISTORY. The babes never get around to doing very much cleaning, but among the ancient artifacts that they find are a "book of the dead" type of thing. By reading from it, they summon a demon into existence. This demon takes the form of a wolf-like cartoon character

Despite the title, we only ever see one Evil Toon. And writer / co-producer / director Fred Olen Ray never spends nearly as much time exploiting the "Roger Rabbit" hook of combining live action and traditional hand drawn animation as you'd think. Mostly, it's the comely quartet of ladies that is required to carry the movie, and although most of them aren't particularly good as actresses, viewers will still enjoy watching (and ogling) them. Ray does have some fun with this material; some of his dialogue may be patently ridiculous, but he does have his characters repeatedly address tropes and clichés of the horror genre.

David Carradine, hired for name value, doesn't do a whole lot until the finale. He's just picking up a paycheck, but Miller is always worth his weight in gold. There's a protracted sequence where he actually watches himself in the Roger Corman classic "A Bucket of Blood". Arte Johnson is mildly amusing as a lecherous neighbor. Among the ladies, well endowed Monique Gabrielle comes off the best. She really does have a knack for playing a "smart, nice" type. Alas, fellow B movie perennial Michelle Bauer is wasted in an extremely brief cameo as Millers' hot to trot young wife.

The animation may not be super slick, but the cartoon villain (designed by horror journalist Chas Balun) is a mild hoot. Certainly one major asset is the classy music score by the talented Chuck Cirino.

So-so entertainment that doesn't live up to its potential. The sight of our actresses in various stages of undress is obviously the real drawing card.

Barely any "toons", evil or otherwise, ugly women, not enough Monique Gabrielle
Groverdox27 March 2016
This movie's title, "Evil Toons", is a misnomer. There is only one "toon" in this movie, so the word should be written in the singular. Furthermore, this animated creature only appears for about a scene and a half - in the beginning, when summoned by some mysterious ancient book, and at the end, when it is vanquished, promising to return in "the sequel", though I don't think they made one.

Only the first scene really features any human-cartoon interaction, and this ain't "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" The animation is so poor that I assume the movie's micro budget couldn't really afford to do it, even when it's this shoddy, for more than a few minutes of screen time.

I think the four starlets were supposed to be college girls because, well, aren't they always? One of them looks to be in her early forties, and when the token slut invites her jock boyfriend in, he doesn't look any younger, with his thinning hair and beer gut.

Of the four, only two are attractive, but of course they all show their breasts. The slut one is among the attractive half of the cast, at least until she takes her top off and we see some weird looking nipple location. Picture a bug-eyed boy with a fly on the end of his nose. I assume these are fake, if not because of their (not overly generous) size, certainly because of the nipples. Mother nature doesn't make them that close together, right?

The other attractive one, and the only one who generates any sympathy from the audience, is played by the beautiful Monique Gabrielle, who looks much younger than the other three and only has one topless scene.

The other two women have that bizarre '80s style hair that looks like animal fur, like they were dressed in Chewbacca costumes for their last movie and forgot to take the headpiece off. They look much older, if I haven't made that point strongly enough yet, and neither are much to look at, besides.

Aside from Gabrielle, the movie does have something else going for it: Dick Miller. Miller is good in anything. David Carradine also shows up, looking suitably creepy, but not doing much else.

This movie really has nothing else that might make it worth watching. For a movie supposedly about "evil toons" there is only one toon who is badly animated and barely glimpsed, most of the women are old and ugly, and the "story" is just cliché without any life at all. This is for Monique Gabrielle and Dick Miller die-hards only.

Let's look at this movie for what it really is
Bogframe24 October 2005
Face it, Evil Toons was never conceived as Oscar material. It's a deftly crafted spoof on every B & C horror movie made in the last 50 years. You have your typical Blonde, Brunette & Redhead with their brainy friend (she's the one with the glasses, natch) bimbos who get a job cleaning out an old house. They find an evil object, release a nasty spirit and get killed off in ways that reflect who they are. Then your cameo (David Carridine) comes in and tells the surviving (smart) one how to repair the damage, and everything comes up roses. Looked at it this way, you have a quickie shoot transformed into a masterful spoof. I loved it, you will to, if you don't take it too seriously!

Were you expecting something serious?

Probably not. And you're not going to get it with this video. Any aficionado of B-films must see this at some point; the combination of animated monster, porn actresses, David Carradine, and Arte Johnson is creative if nothing else about the movie is. In the end, it wimps out. It should have been a soft-core porn film with a horror angle centered on the lusty cartoon monster. Instead, we get one pretty good scene that fits that bill, then a lot of bad scenery chewing. Should have had more of the "Roger Rabbit" styled action.

Simply dreadful! Never thought nudity could be made so boring as well!

Warning: Spoilers
*CONTAINS SPOILERS*

The story: a group of walking breast implants are hired to clean a house with a badly drawn cartoon demon inside.

Basically, Evil Toons is an insult. Fred Olen Ray tried to figure a way to work a "horror" story around situations where gals are topless and shaking their goods, and manages to only get about five minutes of titillating footage in a 90 minute boring feature. If naked gals are what you really want, your money and time is better spent on a silly Girls Gone Wild video. And for what I see they are wanting as a price for Evil Toons right now, you can get at least TWO of the other. Let's face it, the story to Evil Toons was never meant to be interesting anyway, so why sit through a bunch of nothing just to get to some nudity? And don't tell me it's because you actually want a legitimate film.

The title Evil Toons is quite incorrect. It should actually be EVIL TOON instead, as there is only one "toon" that appears (and rather badly) for such brief few moments. To then save on the budget for animation Fred Olen Ray has the toon "possess" one of the gals. Then to assure topless scenes, she then attacks the others making sure to tear off their tops first before killing them. Even the scene with the gal stripping and dancing is more laughable than enticing, as the way she shakes her stuff looks rather jarring instead of fun. I still can't figure out how he managed to stretch the time out on this one with so little of what guys are going to be looking for. It's that boring.

After seeing David Caradine in a film like Trick Or Treats, I didn't think he do worse than that film -- I was wrong. Here, he just sort of stands near a tree and that's about it. Dick Miller and Arte Johnson are completely wasted here as well. I almost expected Arte to wear his helmet from Laugh-In at one point and say "Verrry INteresting...but STUPID!" to sum up the film at some point. It's sad to see actors like these showing up in something so worthless -- at least a film like The First Nudie Musical delivers all the goods and the known actors in that can still feel respectable.

I realize this was intended as silly stupid sexy fun. Of the four previous words I just mentioned, stupid is the only one that fits. It's not sexy, not funny enough, obviously not scary (I don't think that was even expected), and the time wasted to get to the parts that are the draw of the film (the breasts) makes the nudity boring once you get there.

I first saw Evil Toons when it was first released on video back in 1990. This film isn't worth it if were handed to you for free. Don't let Fred Olen Ray sucker you out of even a buck for this. All the reviews you see from guys that like it are obviously focusing on the actresses and their breasts -- but geez, they aren't even given all that much to do to even show just how sexy they can truly be.

I wish I could get back the 90 minutes taken from my life because of this "film." I've had more fun standing in line at the post office or the bank.
