Sex & Nudity

  • Some kissing scenes and very mild nudity but no sex scenes. The closest we get is a man and a woman in bed and snuggling, with some female nudity. Sex in that scene is implied but not shown at all.
  • Suggestive incestuous dialogue near the end of the movie.
  • A man and woman lay on a bed together, the woman nude and the man covered by a sheet up to his waist. The woman's bare back, legs, and buttocks are visible behind a sheer curtain and then her bare breasts are briefly visible.
  • A man's bare chest is partially exposed as he watches television in a pool. However, no nudity is shown.
  • Full frontal female nude bronze statue in an office.
  • Men and women wear revealing swimwear in several scenes, such at pools or the beach.
  • Women wear suggestive clothing throughout, including mostly thin, form-fitting dresses with no bras.
  • Some sexual references and dialogue.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is shot with a shotgun by another man in the head offscreen, and all we hear is the body falling.
  • Many instances of shootings throughout, with few being overly graphic.
  • People riot and clash with security officers.
  • Perhaps not as severe in today's view.
  • A man is stabbed in the gut. He clutches his chest, stumbles away, and falls down.
  • A man has his arm and leg cut with a chainsaw. This isn't directly shown but we do see close up of his eyes and blood spraying everywhere. It is still pretty disturbing and graphic.
  • In a gunfight, four people are shot and killed.
  • A man is graphically shot in the head and chest. Blood spurts and sprays after each shot.
  • A man is hanged from a helicopter up in the air. His body is severely bloodied. It is fully shown, but kind of blurry.
  • A man shoots a drug lord dead. No blood.
  • A man shoots a corrupt cop in the gut and then in the head. Some blood.
  • A man shoots another man in the chest, killing him. A blood spat appears on his shirt.
  • A man shoots another man in the head in a car. Some blood splatters on the window.
  • A woman is mowed down with a submachine gun. Bloody bullet holes form on her chest.
  • A man is shot multiple times. Bullet holes form and blood spurts out of his body.
  • Many men are knocked down and injured by explosions in a home.

Profanity

  • Spanish vulgarities uttered include 'coño' (c*nt) said 15 times, 'maricón' (f*ggot) said twice as an insult, and 'pendejo' (*sshole), 'culo' (*ss), 'puta' (wh*re), and 'cabroncito' (little b*stard) each said once.
  • 'F*ck' is said 207 times, including paired with the word 'mother' and used in a sexual context.
  • 'Wh*re' is said at least once.
  • 'P*ss' is said at least once.
  • 'D*mn' is said at least once.
  • 'H*ll' is said at least twice.
  • 'B*tch' is said at least once.
  • '*ss' is said 14 times, including paired with 'hole' six times..
  • 'Sh*t' is said at least 17 times, including paired with 'bull' four times.
  • 'B*stard' is said twice.
  • 'Son of a b*tch' is said three times.
  • The Lord's name is taken in vain, including at least 'Jesus' said twice and 'God' said once.
  • 'Dyke' is said once as an insult.

  • 'C*ck' is said four times in a vulgar context, including paired with 'sucker' three times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Drugs other than cocaine are visible frequently but are only used a couple times in the movie.
  • Many people smokes cigarettes throughout, including the main character.
  • The plot of the film focuses around the illegal trade of cocaine, and the main character is a high level drug dealer.
  • Bags of cocaine are shown several times.
  • The main character's drug problem gets worse as the film progresses.
  • Tony Montana and his wife/significant other snort cocaine ALOT Throughout the whole film.
  • Cocaine is snorted on many instances throughout the film.
  • People are seen drinking wine and smoking at restaurants/clubs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A couple graphic scenes of violence, most notably the chainsaw scene and shootout at the end of the movie.
  • The second half of the film becomes more dark, violent, and dramatic.
  • The movie gets progressively darker and more violent as it goes on, with the exception of the chainsaw scene near the beginning.
  • Extremely intense, sustained sequences of high impact violence and suspense involving the criminal underworld throughout.
  • Tony Montana is an intense, volatile character; resulting in physical and emotional outbursts throughout the film that can be disturbing. His unpredictability makes him an especially frightening criminal protagonist.
  • The graphic violence throughout and many deaths may be difficult for some viewers.

Sex & Nudity

  • A woman enters a room wearing an open robe that exposes her underwear and sides of her braless breasts. She talks to a man and then shoots at him but is gunned down by another man. As she falls to the ground dead, one of her exposed breasts/nipples is visible for a second or two.

Violence & Gore

  • Gina shoots Tony once the final shootout, with no blood. She is then killed by a man with a machine gun (a little bit of blood is seen on her for about half a second, and her body slowly collapses) before the man is immediately killed by Tony, throwing him into a pool, as blood spreads.
  • A man shoots his friend suddenly two times. Some blood, but not too graphic.
  • In the film's final and most action packed scene, Tony Montana's mansion gets attacked leaving his bodyguards killed in the process and a big bloody shootout ensues.
  • During the ending, the main character is shot several time, but doesn't die until he is shot in the back with a shotgun. Blood spurts out of his chest and he falls into a fountain pond. Lots of blood spreads in the water.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Tony becomes addicted to drugs and uses increasingly large amounts of cocaine.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Tony becomes increasingly paranoid and abusive of his friends and loved ones, resulting in the murder of his best friend, and the psychological and physical destruction of his younger sister. Very emotionally upsetting.
