to say crumbs of truth
Vincentiu15 March 2012
who was the sense of Communist regime ? to mystified and use the power to create a fake reality. this movie is , in this situation, an exercise of honesty. a form to present crumbs of real national history behind heavy masks and unrealistic situations, in propaganda sauce. may be a success ? a manifesto ? not. only a game in which the director and the public are on same part of barricade. the truth is only scintillation. the rules are work of Party. victory - scent of lost era - clothes, ash of attitude, a real good cast and fake window to normality. not more. only a joke in which each actor is prey of his role. but in this time it was enough. against a monster, the illusions are perfect gun. today - only slices of moldy bread. but the reality has new nuances at every step.

form of resistance
Kirpianuscus30 November 2016
a film presenting more the context when it was made than a story. because it is just an exercise to present fragments, slices, crumbs from real national history in a decent manner. sure, the compromises are not only few. but the meet of a good cast and a good director and a subtle script are pillars of a form of resistance, using symbols and creating a kind of complicity between public and makers. and the admirable result is not exactly the revelation of truth but a realistic story about people against dramatic events. and this does it an oasis in its time. a sort of refuge against pressure of propaganda and wise way to not become prey of censorship. the basic virtue - it remains fresh. and this could be more than a good thing.
