Trivia On August 1st, 2018 it was announced that the rights to The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) and this film, the first two from director Charles B. Pierce, were assigned back to his daughter, Pamula Pierce Barcelou, by the son of the films' investor, Steve Ledwell of the Ledwell & Son Enterprises Inc. However, only The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) was said to be getting a 4K restoration by the George Eastman Museum in New York for a future theatrical and home video high-definition release. Nothing was said about Bootleggers (1974) as of the announcement. See more »
