Morgan transports Matt Bonner to the federal penitentiary after he is sentenced to death for murdering three men during a hold-up attempt. His two accomplices, who are still at large, arrange for a gun to be delivered to him in prison and Bonner attempts to shoot his way out to the waiting getaway car.

A Deputy U.S. Marshal asks for a day off to discuss wedding plans with his fiancée and her parents and Marshal Morgan agrees to arrange for a change in the arraignment date of a pair of bank robbers to accommodate him. The crooks won't cooperate with the lawman's wedding plans by attempting to escape custody on two separate occasions.

Morgan's attempt to break up a narcotics ring has tragic consequences when one of his deputies is killed during a drug bust. The marshals manage to arrest two of the crooks, one of whom is persuaded to turn state's evidence. Before the man can testify, though, one of the gang's hitmen shoots him on the steps of the courthouse. Morgan hopes that the dying gangster will provide him a lead to track down the gang's leader.

An angry young man jumps bail in Utah and heads for his home in Arizona to the only person he trusts - his mother - who suffers a heart attack when she learns of his activities. Marshal Morgan promises her that he'll bring in her son alive, but this could prove to be a tall order after the young man goes on a crime spree that include running over a highway policeman and shooting a sheriff.
1958
A county sheriff requests the assistance of Morgan and his deputies when, after picking up the payrolls to pay their men, a series of ranchers are pulled over by a motorcycle cop, beaten and robbed. The modus operandi are the same as that used by a former Las Vegas policeman in Las Vegas who was acquitted for lack of proof.
