What a wonderful surprise this terrific episode directed by the Hollywood vet John Brahm. Richard Basehart plays here an ex soldier who, after becoming a hired killer, is required, in London, on a contract: wasting a beautiful young woman: Ann Bancroft. And this for unexplained reasons. The man who hired Basehart is the always exquisite Sebastian Cabot. Basehart's character reminds me Alain Delon's one in Jean-Pierre Melville's LE SAMOURAI. A lonely professional killer who lives in a small room with a cage and a parrot - instead a bird in Melville's film, I admit - in it... Tense, taut, breathtaking pace, I highly recommend this TV movie, presented as a common episode. Highlight performances here too. An outstanding suspense feature indeed.

I won't spoil any further this awesome time waster.
