Itsky can invent anything, from a waterless fish-globe to a left-handed soup ladle, so when Hoozis, a bachelor about to be married, asks him to invent something which will positively wake him up mornings, Itsky says, "Leave it to me." He concocts a wonderful contrivance which works positively all right, but it depends on the sun for its motive power, so when Hoozis' wedding day turns out to be rainy, drizzly, and otherwise sunless, the apparatus doesn't work and Hoozis sleeps until afternoon. The bride, waiting at the church, becomes hysterical and returns home. Itsky is horrified at the failure of his invention and fears a thrashing. Hoozis rushes to the bride's home just in time to see her remove her wig, false teeth, and other artificialities. Overcome with gratitude at the thought of how he had escaped marrying such a "lemon," Hoozis goes to Itsky's home and overwhelms the frightened inventor with thanks.
